Disney Orders ‘Coven Academy’ Pilot From ‘High School Musical: The Musical: The Series’ Creator Tim Federle
A new group of witches is heading to Disney+ as Disney Branded Television has ordered a pilot for Coven Academy, a single-camera supernatural dramedy.
Written by High School Musical: The Musical: The Series creator Tim Federle, Coven Academy will tell the story of a group of teenage witches-in-training who must protect their town from a looming threat.

The series is poised to air on both Disney+ and Disney Channel.
Federle’s Relationship With Disney
Coven Academy is just the latest result of the continuing collaboration between Disney and Federle.
The author/screenwriter and his Chorus Boy Productions extended their multi-year deal with the Mouse House in 2022.

Other Upcoming Projects
In addition to Coven Academy, Federle is executive producing Vampirina, a live-action comedy set to debut on Disney+ and Disney Channel later this year.

He is also developing a second music-based series, How We Became The Biggest Band in the World, writing the stage adaptation of The Greatest Showman for Disney Theatrical Group, and is set to direct Romy and Michele’s High School Reunion for 20th Century Studios.
