Another New Permit For Animal Kingdom’s ‘Zootopia: Better Zoogether!’ Has Been Filed
On March 17, Flik, Dot, and Hopper will vacate Disney’s Animal Kingdom when It’s Tough to Be a Bug! closes.
As announced at last year’s D23: The Ultimate Fan Event, the Bug’s Life attraction will be replaced by a new show titled Zootopia: Better Zoogether. It’s Tough to Be a Bug! opened with Animal Kingdom in 1998.
Set to open this winter, the new show will be the first Walt Disney World attraction inspired by Disney’s Zootopia. It will also reconnect audiences with fan-favorite characters, including Judy Hopps, Nick Wilde, Flash, Gazelle, and Clawhauser.

While much of the plot of Zootopia: Better Zoogether has yet to be revealed, we know that the show will feature 3D effects and a new original song.
Needless to say, Zootopia fans are excited.
How Much Will the Tree of Life Theater Change?
One of the biggest questions surrounding the transition from It’s Tough to be a Bug! to Better Zoogether, has been how much of the Tree of Life Theater’s infrastructure will remain intact.

It’s Tough to Be a Bug at Disney’s Animal Kingdom
Earlier this month, Disney filed documentation that seemed to indicate fairly extensive changes were coming to the space. Now, they have filed yet another permit.
Another Zootopia: Better Zoogether! Permit
While Disney’s latest Notice of Commencement permit does not provide many details about its plans for the Tree of Life Theater, it may give us a hint at what is to come.
The new permit calls for modifications of infrastructure and assigns the task to Incryo Systems Inc.

According to their website, “Incryo LLC has served the cryogenic industry for decades, with clients ranging from aerospace to theme parks.”
Based on the choice of Incyro, the new permit seems to relate to the fog effect currently used in It’s Tough to be a Bug! What is unclear is whether the permit means that the effect will be upgraded, changed, or removed.

With Zootopia: Better Zoogether! set to debut this winter, fans won’t have to wait long to see what Disney has in store.
