New Episode of ‘We Call It Imagineering’ Will Take Fans Into Disney’s Ride Studio
In case you missed it, Disney Experiences chairman Josh D’Amaro and Disney Entertainment co-chairman Alan Bergman took the stage at SXSW last weekend to present The Future of World-Building at Disney.
The presentation allowed Disney to illuminate the intersection of technology and storytelling and gave fans a glimpse into the future of Disney Parks.
Throughout the Disney panel, Walt Disney Imagineering was the star of the show, as Disney previewed the BDX droids coming to the parks, the new Monsters, Inc. roller coaster in development, and the Cars attraction coming to Magic Kingdom.
The highlight of the presentation, however, was Robert Downey Jr.’s surprise appearance. Discussing the Stark Flight Lab attraction that will debut at Disney California Adventure, Downey lauded Imagineering.

“The curiosity, the passion, the inventiveness, the occasional flair for the dramatic, most of all a drive to put something good out into the world to make life better, at the minimum more fun by a mile,” Downey told the crowd. “It’s the privilege of a lifetime to be invited to participate.”
A New Episode of ‘We Call It Imagineering’
To celebrate Imagineering’s successful panel at SXSW, Disney will release a new episode of We Call It Imagineering.
The latest episode of the Imagineering documentary, debuting today at 11 AM ET, will take fans into the Ride Studio, a space dedicated to design and engineering.

Noting that Ride Studio was the birthplace of many vehicles seen in their SXSW, Disney is promising that the new episode of We Call It Imagineering will reveal even more about the unit’s creative process.
“Join us as we take a deeper dive into the evolution of some of the most beloved attractions, from Haunted Mansion to the upcoming Stark Flight Lab,” they teased.
