MickeyBlog News for March 10th, 2025
EPCOT’s latest festival is now open, and it’s delightful!
We’ll discuss this year’s event and all sorts of Disneyland Resort topics in this week’s MickeyBlog News.
Flower & Garden 2025 Arrives
During the 1990s, EPCOT officials had a grand idea. They chose to host the first festival of its kind at the World Showcase.
At the time, the idea was modest in scope and limited in duration, yet it proved revolutionary for EPCOT.

Living with the Land Flower & Garden Festival Overlay
This exhibition, the EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival, set the standard for what was to come. It was the original prototype.
Nowadays, when people visit EPCOT, they’re disappointed if there is NOT a festival happening. We expect it.
And that’s why Flower & Garden will always remain the most significant EPCOT festival, even if Food & Wine is more famous.
Flower & Garden is the OG that started it all, and that’s why MickeyBlog has excitedly covered it for weeks now.

Dragon Topiary – 2025 EPCOT Flower & Garden Festival
We did this despite the fact that the festival didn’t debut until Wednesday, March 5th.
Our staff had dutifully tracked the arrival of every new topiary and food kiosk at the park.
Before the festival officially opened, we showed you the final updates as well as the festival map.
Importantly, we finally discovered the final list of performers at the Garden Rocks concert series.

Garden Rocks
Disney had held back some of the band names and dates until the last minute.
But the real joy comes from the festival itself. So, let’s discuss the highlights of this year’s event.
About the 2025 Flower & Garden Festival

EPCOT’s 2025 International Flower & Garden Festival
As usual, MickeyBlog’s exceptional reporters blanketed EPCOT to bring you all the best spots at the Flower & Garden Festival.
You can read our live updates from Wednesday morning, but I’ll quickly mention a few can’t-miss options in 2025.

Phineas & Ferb
The first thing you should know is that Disney has moved around some topiaries.
I love this decision because it creates fresh backdrops for familiar faces. And some of the locations are just plain better.

Groot
As an example, Groot’s topiary home is now close to Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind. And it plays some tunes!
This year, you shouldn’t miss the horticultural display inside CommuniCore Hall.
The 2025 passport is so colorful and charming, and even the trash cans get into the act this time.
As that trash can reveals, EPCOT’s Flower & Garden Festival star is undeniably Spike the Bee. Here’s additional proof.

Spike Shoulder Plush
We liked Spike so much that our staff even took him to lunch! How adorable is that?!
On a personal level, one of my favorite things was this new playground.
Currently, Disney’s Yacht & Beach Club has closed Stormalong Bay, the wildly popular pool, for dramatic renovations.
So, Disney brought the vibe of the resorts and pool to EPCOT for 2025!
Yacht Grub proved buzzworthy, and we highly recommend it when you’re looking to split some food with friends.
The biggest surprise is a free giveaway, though. You can read the specifics here, but the gist is that EPCOT hands out free Uncrustables!
Should you want more peanut butter and jelly in your life, I also suggest that you try this viral milkshake.
As for this year’s merchandise, the Spike Lug bag is next-level.
Finally, the butterfly tent has returned! This is typically the first place I visit during the Flower & Garden Festival.
The Disneyland Update
Once again, there’s so much happening at The Happiest Place on Earth that it deserves its own section.
Last week, one of our reporters attended Disneyland After Dark: 90s Nite. And they had a blast! Check it out.

Disneyland After Dark: 90s Nite
In fact, it’s important to one of our writers that you watch and appreciate this particular performance:
@sometimescastles Did you hear this EPIC 90s SONG MASHUP?! This was at 90s Nite in Disneyland and was easily one of the best parts of the night. The choreo?! The music choices?! The mix??? Our 90s hearts can’t handle it. #disneyafterdark #disneylandafterdark #90s #disneyparks #disney #disneyland
Also, you may have heard that there was a Darkwing Duck appearance that could have gone better. Well, Disneyland has fixed that!

Disneyland After Dark: 90s Nite
Now, another event is just around the corner, and we learned more about the menu for it. There’s more Star Wars news, too!
Still, by far the biggest updates center on the upcoming Disneyland 70 event.
We just learned several exciting tidbits, including a scoring Easter egg on Toy Story Midway Mania! and new characters at It’s a Small World.
World of Color Happiness will up the ante even more by adding more than a dozen of your favorite Muppets characters!

When Paint the Night returns, it’ll bring back the beloved Frozen Float.
The parks at Disneyland Resort will also add some new décor, and two popular characters will visit from Tokyo Disneyland.
In short, we’re about to enter rare character season at Disneyland Resort!
Should you want to visit The Happiest on Earth, there’s a huge discount happening right now, too.

Disney Miscellany
Did you celebrate Fat Tuesday? Well, one Walt Disney World resort certainly wasn’t going to overlook this particular day!
Here’s our experience at the Mardi Gras parade at Disney’s Port Orleans – French Quarter.
At Disney’s Animal Kingdom, I have sad news. The friendliest dinosaur at DinoLand USA has officially gone extinct.
Along those lines, the Disney Parks Blog clarified the closing timeline at this themed land. It’s coming soon enough.
I’ve got better news at EPCOT, though. As part of Flower & Garden, Disney offers several unique Magic Shots right now!
Speaking of the festival, Living with the Land has updated its look to match the surroundings. You should prioritize the ride this spring.
The other big story this week involves the upcoming Pirates of the Caribbean-inspired tavern coming to Magic Kingdom.
We learned plenty more about the design of this tavern, and let’s say I can’t wait to try the rum here.

Mears Connect
Finally, you should be aware of this Mears Connect deal. It can make getting to and from Walt Disney World much cheaper.
