Magic Kingdom Announces New Start Time For ‘Happily Ever After’ as Daylight Savings Looms
With the calendar now reading “March ” and temperatures around the country warming up, Spring Break is just around the corner.
At Walt Disney World, that means that the resort is preparing for one of its busiest times of the year, as thousands of guests from around the country will soon make the pilgrimage to Central Florida for some fun in the sun.
As we previously reported, Disney World is preparing for Spring Break in a multitude of ways, including raising the prices for the Lightning Lane Premier Pass and extending park hours throughout March.
Now, The Most Magical Place on Earth has announced another change.
A New Start Time For ‘Happily Ever After’
Beginning Sunday, March 9, Magic Kingdom is pushing back the start time for Happily Ever After.

Currently, the park’s nighttime fireworks extravaganza begins at 8:00 PM ET. Starting March 9, the show will be pushed back to 8:30 PM.
Subsequently, beginning March 30, the show will move again, this time to 9:00 PM.
Why the Change?
If you are wondering why Disney is pushing back the star of Happily Ever After, the answer is quite simple. March 9 is the start of Daylight Savings Time.
When we jump forward an hour, the time the sun sets on Walt Disney World will shift from 6:30 to 7:30.
Additionally, by the end of the month, it will not get dark until almost 7:40 PM. Thus, Disney has plans to move back to Happily Ever After once again.
In addition to the changing sunset times, Magic Kingdom will have extended hours through the Spring Break season. With guests staying at the park later, moving Happily Ever After back makes sense.
