Purple Martins Steal the Show at the 2025 EPCOT Flower & Garden Festival
In case you haven’t heard, the 2025 Flower & Garden Festival is officially underway at EPCOT, and we here at MickeyBlog could not be more excited.
Throughout yesterday, we brought you updates on the flavorful foods, stunning topiaries, and festive fun that debuted with EPCOT’s spring festival. Of course, there was also plenty of new merchandise!

While the Flower & Garden Festival is renowned for its savory sips, varied food options, and beautiful displays, I want to turn your attention to an underrated activity you can participate in while visiting EPCOT.
Purple Martins Are Flocking to EPCOT
Between stops at the food booths and festive activities at the EPCOT Flower & Garden Festival, make sure you take a moment to see the purple martin nests located throughout the park!

The small songbirds travel over 3,000 miles from South America to Walt Disney World, where bird “hotels” have been installed to provide a place to nest.
The bird hotels are part of a larger effort across Central Florida to provide nesting infrastructure for the purple martins.

The program’s goal is to better understand the birds’ migration and nesting habits and reverse the decline in their Central Florida population.
Keep Your Eyes Open
So, while visiting the 2025 EPCOT Flower & Garden Festival, keep your eyes open. You may catch Cast Members monitoring the purple martins. You can also see the nests up close!
