Disney World Provides an Updated DinoLand Closing Timeline
Earlier this year, the countdown to extinct ran out for Chester and Hester’s Dino-Rama at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. In January, TriceraTop Spin, the Fossil Fun Games, and Chester and Hester’s Dinosaur Treasures officially closed, and construction began on a new chapter in Animal Kingdom history.
As announced at last year’s D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event, the entirety of DinoLand, U.S.A. will eventually be removed to make way for a new Tropical Americas land.

To give guests one more chance to visit DinoLand, however, the land is closing in phases. So, while Dino-Rama has gone extinct, guests can still ride DINOSAUR, explore The Boneyard, and grab a bite to eat at Restaurantosaurus.

The question is, for how long?
The Remaining DinoLand Attractions Will Remain Open Through 2025
In a new update today, Disney has revealed that all of DinoLand, U.S.A. will remain open through 2025. Initially, the company had assured fans that DINOSAUR would continue operating throughout the rest of the year. That, however, left questions about The Boneyard and Restaurantosaurus.

Now, we have confirmation that the entirety of the land will remain open through the end of the year.
“If you’re hoping to get in some prehistoric fun, 2025 is your last year to visit DinoLand before it goes extinct. Currently, many of DinoLand locations are still operating, including DINOSAUR, the Boneyard, and Restaurantosaurus,” Disney explained.

“When construction ramps up throughout the year, we’ll bring you more info faster than a Time Rover can race out of the end of the Cretaceous period.”
When Exactly Will DinoLand Close?
Disney has not announced an official closing date for any of the current DinoLand experiences. All we know for now is that the land will become extinct in 2026.

By the sound of things, however, we should learn more soon.
Tropical Americas Is Coming
Concluding their update, Disney also teased the upcoming Tropical Americas land.
Known as Pueblo Esperanza, the new 11-acre land will be sprawling and lush. When complete, it will include an Encanto attraction, an Indiana Jones attraction, and a large quick-service restaurant (guess where that is going).

Finally, the area will be completed by a large fountain in the center and a giant working carousel featuring some of Disney’s most iconic furry friends.
Tropical Americas is expected to open in 2027.
