Come With Us to Disneyland After Dark: 90s Nite!
We’re always looking for ways to spend more time in Disneyland. Luckily for us, Disneyland makes that easy by providing plenty of after-hours events that give guests more exclusive time in the park.

Disneyland
Of course, we’re talking about the Disneyland After Dark events! We’ve already experienced this year’s Sweetheart’s Nite series, but it’s time to feel the nostalgia with the 90s Nite series! Let’s head to Disneyland to experience everything the 2-night event series has to offer!
Disneyland After Dark: 90s Nite
Disneyland After Dark: 90s Nite is a sold-out event that invites guests to step back into the 90s with decade-themed dance parties, entertainment, food, character experiences, and more!

Disneyland After Dark: 90s Nite
The event will only take over Disneyland Park on two nights–March 4th and March 6th from 9PM to 1AM. We attended the very first event night on March 4th, and of course, we took you with us!
Event Check-In
The event’s mix-in started at 6PM, but event guests who were in Disneyland Park before that time could start checking in as early as 4:30PM. During check-in, we received an event guide map and a free fanny pack!

Disneyland After Hours: 90s Nite
The guide had all of the event’s food and drinks…

Disneyland After Dark: 90s Nite
…a map with the special event offerings identified in their respective locations…

Disneyland After Dark: 90s Nite
…information on when and where entertainment would take place…

Disneyland After Dark: 90s Nite
…and where guests could meet characters!

Disneyland After Dark: 90s Nite
We also received a stamp guide, themed after the Disney Afternoon characters.

Park Décor
Once the event officially started at 9PM, the park filled with classic tunes and party-themed projections. The event logo was projected on Matterhorn mountain…

…while Sleeping Beauty Castle…

…and the Main Street, U.S.A. buildings were decorated with projections inspired by the event.

Fantasyland Theatre
Fantasyland Theatre was a popular location at the party; so popular that we recommend heading over there immediately if you’re hoping to meet some of Disney’s most beloved ducks. (We’ll get to that in a second.) Here, guests can take pictures with backdrops themed after the Adventures of the Gummi Bears…

…Beagle Boys…

…Gizmoduck…

Disneyland After Dark: 90s Nite
…Chip ‘n’ Dale Rescue Rangers…

…and more!

Disneyland After Dark: 90s Nite
The big screen in the theater plays classic ’90s shows, tapping into the nostalgia!

Disneyland After Dark: 90s Nite
It’s not just backdrops around here either–there are also meet-and-greets with characters like Launchpad and Scrooge…

…Huey, Dewey, and Louie…

…and Darkwing.

Disneyland After Dark: 90s Nite
Guests wanting to meet Huey, Dewey, and Louie or Darkwing had to obtain a wristband with a designated return time. Guests could grab a wristband from Fantasyland Theatre as early as 6PM, with the ability for partygoers to meet the characters 3 hours before the event officially started. Scrooge and Launchpad did not require a wristband.

Other Character Meet-and-Greets
While the ducks were popular meet-and-greets, they weren’t the only ones guests could meet at the party. During our event night, guests could meet Flik and Princess Atta near the Matterhorn!

Disneyland After Dark: 90s Nite
In Adventureland, there was a character encounter with the original monkeys from Fantasmic.

Disneyland After Dark: 90s Nite
Over by Hungry Bear Barbecue Jamboree, guests could meet Meeko and Pocahontas!

Event Entertainment
The “90s on Parade” runs through the normal parade route (Main Street to “it’s a small world”) at 9:30PM and 11:30PM!

Disneyland After Dark: 90s Nite
This parade brought us back to the ’90s, courtesy of the tributes to classic parades featuring The Lion King, Aladdin, Mulan, and Hercules.

Disneyland After Dark: 90s Nite
Tomorrowland hosted the ultimate dance party with Max, Goofy, and a special appearance by Powerline Max!

Event Merchandise
Of course, we had to browse the event’s exclusive merchandise! There was a gray 90s Nite Sweatshirt for $54.99…

Disneyland After Dark: 90s Nite
…that had bright shapes and a Mickey head on the back.

Disneyland After Dark: 90s Nite
The blue 90s Nite Shirt had the event logo on the front…

…with a larger version on the back, surrounded by more colorful shapes! Guests could grab this for $29.99.

Disneyland After Dark: 90s Nite
Much more merchandise featured just the event logo, including the 90s Nite Magnet, which was $14.99…

Disneyland After Dark: 90s Nite
…the 90s Nite Ornament, which was $22.99…

Disneyland After Dark: 90s Nite
…the 90s Nite Tumbler, which was $27.99…

Disneyland After Dark: 90s Nite
…and the 90s Nite Pin, which was $22.99.

Disneyland After Dark: 90s Nite
They also sold a Goofy Movie Loungefly Backpack, which isn’t exclusive to the event but obviously made sense to sell throughout the night. Guests could grab one for $80.

Disneyland After Dark: 90s Nite
The Powerline Max Popcorn Bucket was available at most popcorn carts, but could also be mobile ordered at Troubadour Tavern, Cafe Daisy, and Galactic Grill. It was $35 and limited to two per person, per transaction. (It will be released around the resort for everyone to grab this spring!)

Disneyland After Dark: 90s Nite
Magic Key holders could also grab a free 90s Nite Button Set, which was distributed near Hungry Bear Barbecue Jamboree on the pathway to Galaxy’s Edge.

Disneyland After Dark: 90s Nite
Event Food
We refueled throughout the night with some of the event’s exclusive food offerings! We started with the Loaded Taco Fries from Galactic Grill…

Disneyland After Dark: 90s Nite
…and then got the Fried Apple Pie Sundae from Gibson Girl for $11.29. This was super good–think warm apple pie balanced out with a creamy scoop of vanilla ice cream. (We heard it was the best item of the event from several others–we recommend giving it a try if you’re attending the final event night!)

Disneyland After Dark: 90s Nite
Grand Farewell
The event ended with a grand farewell at 1AM from the characters and performers at the Main Street Train Station!

Disneyland After Dark: 90s Nite
This was such a fun way to end the night!
Overall
It was a great idea to allow guests to meet characters as early as 6PM; however, our main critique is that there still wasn’t nearly enough time. This is a common issue we’ve experienced at Disney’s special events–and it seems many others share the same sentiment. With so much to do, it would be nice to have enough time to actually experience everything.

Disneyland After Dark: 90s Nite
That was our experience at the event! We hope guests attending day two have an amazing, nostalgia-filled time! And we’ll keep bringing you the latest from around the resort, so stay tuned to MickeyBlog.com.
