Monorail Station Remains Closed as Construction Continues in Downtown Disney
Over at the Disneyland Resort, there’s something of a magical transformation currently taking place in Downtown Disney!
With an enticing line-up of new restaurants still in the pipeline to open, it’s only to be expected that a flurry of construction and diversion has a hold over the district at the moment. This weekend, our MickeyBlog reporters went and snapped some photos of some of the works — keep reading to see how the place is looking this March!
Disneyland Monorail Station
To start, it’s definitely worth knowing that the Downtown Disney station for the Disneyland Monorail is currently completely closed off to guests.
This minor transportation disruption is due to regular maintenance and refurbishment efforts taking place across the monorail system.
While we don’t know for sure when this work will be completed, we’ll certainly be keeping an eye on the Disneyland calendars for updates!
New Restaurant Construction
The next item of news we have to share is on the tastier side, as it involves a look at some of the delicious new restaurants set to open soon here at Downtown Disney.
Over here, interior demolition has begun on the former Tortilla Jo’s building, ready to make space for new restaurants Arthur & Sons Steak and Bourbon and Pearl’s Roadside BBQ.
It’s fair to say that bright, colorful construction walls are something of a rarity across Disney Parks, with Imagineers often opting for much more subtle barriers to block any building work. So, we’re definitely taking notice of the bold, rainbow-colored walls erected here across the Downtown Disney District…and the mouth-watering restaurant photos and concept art are also really catching our eye!
We’ll be paying close attention to the progress of these new builds here at the Disneyland Resort, and we look forward to hopefully sharing more exciting opening news with you in the coming months.
In the meantime, you can read more about the plans for the Downtown Disney District right here and enjoy planning your next trip!
