WATCH: Imagineering Shares a Sneak Peek at the New Pirates of the Caribbean Tavern Coming to Magic Kingdom Later This Year
With all the changes taking place across Walt Disney World, it can be hard to keep up.
In Magic Kingdom, for example, Big Thunder Mountain is currently closed for a year-long refurbishment, Astro Orbiter has been dismantled, and soon, Tom Sawyer Island and the Rivers of America will be demolished to make way for a new Cars area.
With everything going on, it is easy to forget that we are also waiting on the arrival of the new Pirates of the Caribbean tavern in Adventureland.
The Pirates of the Caribbean Tavern Will Open Later This Year
Originally announced at 2023’s Destination D23, the new Pirates of the Caribbean tavern will offer a hideaway for weary travelers, swashbucklers, and buccaneers of all ages. Last year, Disney announced that the tavern would open in late 2025.

While we know that the new lounge will open later this year, details about the new Pirates of the Caribbean tavern have been few and far between. Now, however, Walt Disney Imagineering has shared a peek behind the curtain.
Imagineering Shares a Sneak Peek
In a new video posted on Instagram, Imagineering introduced audiences to Montse Garmilla, an assistant producer working on the new Pirates tavern.
Montse actually started her Disney career working at the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction as part of the Disney College Program!

In the clip, Montse shares a glimpse at the current status of the Pirates of the Caribbean tavern and even previews some of its features, such as the Barker Bird.
In addition to the main bar, a second section of the tavern will be called the Captain’s Quarters. Here, guests will be able to sit and enjoy the establishment’s food and drinks.
