PHOTOS: Magic Kingdom’s Emporium Debuts New Tiling as Refurbishment Continues
If you have been reading along here at MickeyBlog, you know that we have been closely following the refurbishment of the Magic Kingdom’s Emporium.
Last January, mystery walls went up, blocking off the toy and plush sections of the store. While Disney had not announced a refurbishment, it was clear that some significant remodeling was being done.
Nearly two months after the construction walls went up, I am happy to report that part of the Emporium refurbishment has concluded.
Here is the latest.
The Refreshed Emporium
When we visited Magic Kingdom today, we were thrilled to see that the Emporium construction walls had largely come down and that the refurbished section had been unveiled.
As you can see, Disney has installed new tile flooring in the plush section, brightening up the store’s interior.
In addition to the new tiling, one of the walls that divided the section has been removed.
The entire space feels more open now and should be conducive to guest flow.
Here is another look at the new area.
By the look of things, Disney will remove the dark wood flooring in the adjacent section of the store and replace it with lighter hardwood.
Once again, Disney has not shared any details on the Emporium refurbishment, so it is difficult to say how extensive it will be.
One Construction Wall Remains
While the Emporium is now open by and large, one construction wall remains.
Clearly, Disney still has some work to do.
So, be sure to check back with MickeyBlog. We will continue to update you on the Emporium refurbishment as it unfolds!
