Harrison Ford Bows Out of 2025 Oscars
Entertainment Weekly is exclusively reporting that Hollywood legend and acting icon Harrison Ford will no longer be presenting at the 2025 Academy Awards.
The Indiana Jones and Star Wars star was set to take the stage tonight but is now resting after being diagnosed with shingles.

Ford, 82, recently appeared at the 2025 SAG Awards and, just a few days later, was officially announced as one of the Oscar presenters. He would be joining a star-studded lineup that includes Dave Bautista, Gal Gadot, Andrew Garfield, Samuel L. Jackson, and 2025 Best Supporting Actress nominee Zoe Saldaña.
Even without Ford, tonight’s ceremony will still feature an impressive selection of past winners and Hollywood stars, including Cillian Murphy, Emma Stone, Robert Downey Jr., and Da’Vine Joy Randolph.

Whoopi Goldberg also returns as an Oscar presenter for the first time in nearly a decade. Fans will see even more big names, including Penélope Cruz, Halle Berry, and Goldie Hawn.

Shingles are caused by the varicella-zoster virus and create a painful rash and severe fatigue that can be debilitating. While Ford’s presence will definitely be missed, it is important that the Oscar-nominated actor takes time to recover.
