Disneyland Hotel, Pixar Place Hotel, and Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa are getting updated with new lounges and suites, refreshed décor, and more! But the Grand Californian is undergoing the most extensive refurbishments of all the resort hotels–let’s take a look at how construction is going!

Currently, scrims are covering several areas, signifying that work is being completed in those locations. We saw those scrims and scaffolding throughout the property…

We knew we’d see some scaffolding and scrims, but we definitely weren’t expecting to see chairs. They look nearly identical to the ones in the guest rooms–perhaps they’re being re-finished as part of the room refresh happening throughout the hotel?

The hotel’s Redwood Pool is currently closed…

There’s also quite a bit of scrims hiding construction in the pool area. It’s a bit unsightly right now, but worth it for the end result!

Disney’s Grand Californian Refurb
Unfamiliar with the refurbishments currently taking place around the hotel? No worries–we’ll catch you up to speed! The Grand Californian is currently renovating all 1,019 of its rooms, updating them to have new carpeting, upholstery, bedding, décor, and artwork.

To ensure the hotel can still accommodate guests throughout the refurbishment, the updates are taking place in phases so the hotel can remain open!

Napa Rose is also being remodeled this spring, adding French oak flooring and columns, artisan metals, two new fireplaces, and a grapevine chandelier to the restaurant. The exhibition kitchen and chef’s counter will also be expanded during the refurbishment.

The hotel is also getting a concierge lounge on the 5th and 6th floors, resting among the treetops. The location is inspired by the hotel’s sequoias, and will be a two-story space with natural light, stained-glass accents, and a curved staircase!
