PHOTOS: Check Out the FIRST Day of Standby Queue at Cosmic Rewind
If you visit Walt Disney World today, you will notice a big change! The virtual queue has been discontinued for two of the park’s most popular attractions: Tiana’s Bayou Adventure in Magic Kingdom and Cosmic Rewind in EPCOT.

We are bringing you a first look at what the standby looks like for today and how it is impacting Rope Drop Procedures.
@mickeyblog_ Tiana’s Bayou Adventure also switched to standby today but has had a bit of a rough start 😅 Are you switching up your rope drop procedure to hit these two attractions? #disneyparks #tianasbayouadventure #giardiansofthegalaxycosmicrewind #disneyworld ♬ original sound – MickeyBlog.com
Cosmic Rewind
A virtual queue at Disney World is a digital system that allows guests to reserve their spot for popular attractions without waiting in a traditional line. As of today, Cosmic Rewind no longer uses the system and only has a standby line.

Standby Cosmic Rewind
Check out these pictures taken at Rope Drop. This is just before 9am, before “regular guests” can enter.

Standby Cosmic Rewind
Don’t forget this is part of the new change! Cosmic Rewind is now included with Early Theme Park Entry!
Plenty of guests are ready to experience this popular attraction, and lines are forming early.
Check out the crowds near the front of the park!
Here is another great look:
And another great pic as fans head towards the attraction.
As of 9AM, the standby line is 45 minutes long.
Signage helps guests form the line…
…and multiple ropes and stanchions help with crowd control.
Ride signage on the attraction shows both the standby entrance and the wait time.
We also saw Disney management and Cast Members on hand to assist with the new procedures.
If you look closely, you can see the divider: standby is on the left, and Lightning Lane is on the right.
Keep in mind this is the first day, and the new lines and traffic definitely drew in more crowds this morning. The new setup potentially blocks your path to getting coffee at Joffrey’s or taking a shortcut through EPCOT.
UPDATE! As of 9:30am, the wait time has already gone up to 135 minutes. We will be watching this story and bringing you updates to see how the day (and the next few weeks) progresses with the lack of a virtual queue.
