‘Spider-Man 4’ Has Been Delayed (But Fans Won’t Have to Wait Too Much Longer)
Marvel fans are going to have to wait a little bit longer than expected to see Tom Holland’s Peter Parker swing back into action, as Spider-Man 4 has been delayed.
Originally announced last year, the next installment in the Spider-Man franchise was expected to hit theaters on July 24, 2026. Destin Daniel Cretton will direct the film, which was written by Erik Sommers and Chris McKenna (who previously wrote Spider-Man: Now Way Home).
While much of Spider-Man 4‘s plot remains a mystery, the film is expected to be set between the events of Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars.

Now, however, Spider-Man 4 has been delayed for a week and will hit theaters on July 31, 2026.
Why the Film Was Delayed
Marvel’s decision to push Spider-Man back seems related to the release of Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey.
Set to hit theaters on July 17, 2026, the adaptation of Homer’s epic will also star Holland alongside Matt Damon, Anne Hathaway, Zendaya, Lupita Nyong’o, Robert Pattinson, and Charlize Theron.

By delaying Spider-Man 4, audiences will have a couple of weeks to catch their breath before getting a double dose of Tom Holland.
So, while fans may have to wait a little bit longer, the good news is that more Spider-Man is coming.
