PHOTOS: EPCOT Unveils New Rope Drop Procedure Ahead of Cosmic Rewind’s Traditional Queue Debut
With Guardians of the Galaxy Cosmic Rewind switching to a traditional standby queue tomorrow, EPCOT is already preparing for the rush of guests who will want to rope-drop the attraction.
When Disney introduced the Early Entry perk for guests staying at Walt Disney World hotels, rope-dropping the resort’s theme parks became slightly more complicated.
At EPCOT, Disney has previously queued non-resort guests in front of Spaceship Earth as they waited for the park to open.

This morning, however, EPCOT rolled out its new rope drop procedure. Here is the latest.
EPCOT’s New Rope Drop Procedure
Non-resort guests waiting for the rope to drop at EPCOT will now queue on the left side of Spaceship Earth, near Guest Relations. This essentially lines them up with the walkway to World Discovery.

Here is a look at the crowds today waiting to get in.

Walt Disney World resort guests taking advantage of Early Entry are now directed to Spaceship Earth’s right side.

This division keeps things organized and allows non-resort guests to bypass the masses waiting for the park to officially open.

The Scene This Morning
This morning, Cast Members dropped the ropes at 8:56 AM, and it was off to the races.

After today, Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind will be the attraction guests want to rope drop. So, if you plan on visiting EPCOT, make sure you plan accordingly!
