Disney World Files Another Permit For the Haunted Mansion — Is a New Attic Scene Coming?
Late last month, we brought you the news that Disney World had filed a permit for construction work at the Haunted Mansion.
While the new document provided little information, it was notable as Disney filed the paperwork just days after Disneyland’s Haunted Mansion unveiled its new attic scene.

At the time, we questioned whether the new permit could hint that Walt Disney World would follow suit. Now, it looks like we may have been on to something.
The Latest Haunted Mansion Permit
Disney World has filed another permit for construction on Magic Kingdom’s Haunted Mansion. This time, the resort may have tipped its hand.

The new Notice of Commencement calls for “general construction” at 1600 Magic Kingdom Drive, better known as the Haunted Mansion.
While the new permit is rather vague, Disney’s choice of contractor to complete the work is notable.
According to the permit, MLC Theming has been tasked with the mystery Haunted Mansion project.
If that name sounds familiar, it should. Disney has used the contractor on projects in Frontierland, Disney’s Animal Kingdom, and even Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort.
Who Is MLC Theming
According to their website, MLC is “masters of our trade, including scenic painting and aging of structures, fabricating facades, carving rock work, and more.”

While the inclusion of MLC Theming does not mean that the Magic Kingdom’s Haunted Mansion is getting a new attic scene, it does seem to indicate that the construction will be more than a general refurbishment.
Hopefully, we will learn more soon.
