The Best Time To See Baby Bakso at Disney’s Animal Kingdom May Surprise You
While Disney’s Animal Kingdom is beloved for its immersive environments, impressive attractions, and world-class cuisine, the biggest star in the park is undoubtedly Bakso.
The young Sumatran tiger cub was born at Disney’s Animal Kingdom last year, and over the first several months of his life, we watched him grow and develop as part of Disney’s Tiger Tuesdays series.

Needless to say, the adorable tiger cub quickly amassed legions of fans.
Bakso Debuted on the Maharajah Jungle Trek Last Month
Then, last month, Bakso was finally ready to debut on the Maharajah Jungle Trek in the Asia section of Animal Kingdom. Since he arrived in the park, Bakso has been a massive draw.

Initially, because Bakso was still getting used to his on-stage home, the tiger cub was only out for short intervals in the morning. Cast Members told guests that Bakso could typically be seen from the park opening until about 11:30 a.m.
To see the tiger cub, guests have been flocking to the Maharajah Jungle Trek as soon as Animal Kingdom opens. Often, the line has grown to over one hour!
If you want to see Bakso in person without all the crowds, however, I’ll let you in on a little secret.
The Best Time To See Bakso
As Bakso has gotten older and more acclimated to his new environment, the tiger is spending more time on stage at the Maharajah Jungle Trek.
According to the Cast Members we talked to, Bakso is usually out until about 3 p.m. While crowds are still flocking to see the tiger cub early in the morning, by the afternoon, there is almost no wait.
Today, we could walk right up and see Bakso as he took a nap in the shade!
As you can see, there was almost no line to see the tiger this afternoon.
We also got a great view of Sohni, Bakso’s mom.
Here is another photo of Bakso lounging in the grass.
There Is No Guarantee Bakso Will Be Out in the Afternoon
Now, before you run off to Disney’s Animal Kingdom, it is important to note that there is no guarantee that Bakso will be out in the afternoon.

So, if you absolutely need to see the Sumatran tiger, then you are better off waiting in line in the morning. That way, you won’t miss your opportunity.
For those who are more flexible, however, head over to the Maharajah Jungle Trek in the afternoon, and you may observe Bakso without the fanfare and long lines.
