Bat Exhibit Closed for Refurbishment at Disney’s Animal Kingdom
With so many wonderful animals living at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, we can imagine that looking after all of them takes quite a bit of work!
While this work of the fabulous Disney zoologists is often done quietly behind the scenes, guests will sometimes experience some slight disruption to the exhibits while their inhabitants get the care and attention they deserve. Right now, some refurbishments are happening over in the Asia area of the park — keep reading to see what’s happening!
Maharajah Jungle Trek
Have you explored the Maharajah Jungle Trek tour at Disney’s Animal Kingdom?
With so many animals to encounter along the way, it’s always a must-do experience for us when we visit the park. There’s even an adorable baby Sumatran tiger there right now!
On today’s adventures around the trail, our MickeyBlog reporters noticed that one of the walk’s popular exhibits is currently under refurbishment.
It’s the bat house! Starting today, the area will be undergoing maintenance work, as described on the Walt Disney World website…
So, what does this mean for the Maharajah Trek?
Well, as you can see from our photo below, the bat house viewing area is currently still accessible to guests, but the enclosure itself has been covered with scrim.
But, worry not. We’re sure those little bats will be perfectly looked after, and the full experience is scheduled to be back open as usual early next month.
In the meantime, you can catch us enjoying the rest of the fascinating exhibits here around Disney’s Animal Kingdom, and we’ll be sure to report back with any updates here to MickeyBlog.
Enjoy those trails, explorers!
