Woody’s Lunch Box Construction Proceeds With a NEW Structure

We’ve got a bit of a construction update for you today and, if you’re a fan of totchos and lunchbox tarts, we think you’re going to be excited to hear it.

Howdy howdy howdy! We’re over in Toy Story Land, where these toys just won’t stop constructing. Specifically, we’re over at Woody’s Lunch Box!
And no — we’re not here to order more of those divine new Valentine’s lunchbox tarts. Instead, we’re here to check out the updates on the area’s construction!

It’s no secret that Woody’s Lunch Box has been the subject of complaints since they opened, due to the shortage of seating and complete lack of shade in the area. Yes, their menu is fun and tasty and their theming is truly spot-on…but nobody loves sitting down to eat soup without any protection from that hot Florida sunshine!
So, let’s catch up. Back in September of last year, we noticed that seating had been moved away from the counter-service restaurant. While yes, it was weird to have to trek halfway to Batuu to sit and eat, we did get rather hopeful as to why this was happening.
In November, a small amount of seating returned to the area, and we were all beginning to eagerly anticipate the arrival of a new, shaded patio area for guests to sit and enjoy their totchos. However, since then, we’ve not seen much more progress beyond the hedge barriers.
Until today!
Yes, work has been moving incredibly slowly here in Toy Story Land, but we are now seeing a new structure begin to be erected here among the construction. Apparently made of K’NEX and LEGO (very on-theme,) the new awning looks like it’ll provide some good shade to guests once it becomes accessible.
As you can see from the photos, lots of wires can be seen hanging down from the new build. We’re assuming this might be for lighting or perhaps even a sound system, but we’ll be keeping a close eye on the progress as work continues!
While we don’t have a timeframe for when this new area will be completed, you can be sure that MickeyBlog will be avidly following along with the progress as those green army men keep on building.
In the meantime, Woody’s Lunch Box is still very much open for business, and seating can still be found around the area. You might just have to wait a bit for a clear table in busy periods, and keep the weather in mind as you sit down!
