With ‘The Handmaid’s Tale’ Coming to an End, Hulu Prepares to Greenlight ‘The Testaments’
With the sixth and final season of The Handmaid’s Tale set to kick off on April 7, the Disney-owned streamer is already making preparations for the show’s successor.
Titled The Testaments, the upcoming series will take place 15 years after the events of The Handmaid’s Tale. According to Deadline, the series will follow the lives of Aunt Lydia (Ann Dowd reprising her Handmaid’s Tale role), Agnes (Presumed Innocent’s Chase Infiniti), and Daisy, whose fates become intertwined as they uncover the secrets of Gilead and the resistance against its regime.

The Testaments is once again based on a novel by Margaret Atwood, who wrote the book in coordination with The Handmaid’s Tale television series. Released in 2019, the book quickly became a best-seller.
Bruce Miller Created the Series After Leaving ‘The Handmaid’s Tale’
Once again, The Testaments was created by Bruce Miller, who stepped down as showrunner of The Handmaid’s Tale to develop the sequel series.
Miller will serve as showrunner and executive producer of The Testaments alongside Warren Littlefield.

According to the Deadline report, the series hopes to bring Elisabeth Moss back to reprise her The Handmaid’s Tale role as June.
