What Will Disney Be Like in July 2025?
When people think of Walt Disney World, one time of the year often springs to mind.
Many of us hold warm memories of that unforgettable summer vacation at Disney.

Disney
We spent the entire school year dreaming about it, and then it happened. It was our reward for not flunking Algebra.
Well, an entire generation of new students are currently suffering their way through Algebra class.
As we speak, teachers are lying to them that they’ll use this stuff as adults, knowing full well almost nobody does.
What do those kids deserve more than anything else? A summer trip to Disney!
So, what will Disney be like in July 2025? Spoiler: Hot but fun.
Visiting Disney in July

Low crowds near Cinderella Castle
As usual, MickeyBlog is publishing this article several months early to give you a chance to book your vacation.
If we don’t do this, you’ll never beat the crowds. So, you won’t get your pick of the best Disney hotels and rooms.
Since you really want that advantage, we publish these five months ahead of time.
Unfortunately, that causes a problem this time. Historically, I’d tell you that one of the best things at the parks is a festival.

Then, Disney threw us a curveball in 2024 by saving the EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival until late August.
Generally, the festival is generally nearly over, so it was an odd timing.

Cheese Crawl Prize
Presumably, Disney did that because EPCOT was opening new stuff last summer and wanted to focus on that.
Still, I’m not as confident as usual that you can enjoy the Food & Wine Festival in July…but I presume you can.
I mean, you could during 24 of the past 25 years. That’s pretty good odds.
Even if you can’t, July brings plenty of goodies to the parks.
After all, this is Disney’s most crowded time of the year. So, it breaks out its best amenities.
This year, you can also take advantage of a new offer. When you stay at an official Disney resort, you get a free water park visit.

I’m serious. On the date of your check-in, you’re entitled to free admission at a Disney water park.
Walt Disney World hosts two of the top five water parks in the world in terms of attendance.

So, this is a huge benefit, and you’ll appreciate it more in July than any other month of the year. Speaking of which…
About the Weather
Yeah, I’m not gonna sugarcoat it. July will be hot.
To drive home the point, consider that the hottest day on record occurred in July 2023. Then, the next day broke that record.
Somehow, 2024 topped that, with July 22nd being the hottest day ever. For that matter, it was the hottest July on record.
So, we’re trending the wrong way here, and you’re likely to notice.

Magic Kingdom
Not coincidentally, mid- to late-June has become the more popular time to visit the parks in recent years.
Some people sit out early July, which could be of benefit to you.
A couple of years ago, July 4th was somehow a slow park day, which is unprecedented in Disney theme park history.
Fortune favors the bold here, as your willingness to take a chance on a cooler July in 2025 could lead to smaller crowds.

Magic Kingdom
I make no promises here, but after two straight years of record heat, we’re all due a break, right?
Historically, Weather Spark indicates that the average high temperature in July is 90 degrees.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios
There’s a range of anywhere between 85 and 94 degrees, and I’m here to tell you that every degree matters at that level.
So, you should hope for 85 degrees as your high. On the flip side, the average low temperature is 75 degrees.

Hollywood Studios
This range is more consistent, as Central Florida generally hovers between lows of 72 to 78 degrees.
As for rain, clouds are your friend in July, and you’ll be happy to know that 20 days will be exceedingly cloudy on average.

A rainy day in Magic Kingdom
You also have a two in three chance of significant rainfall on each date of your visit.
Believe me when I say you want that since it keeps the temperature cooler.
What’s Fun at Disney in July?

Since this is Disney’s busy season, park officials make sure that all the major attractions are up and running.
In addition, some spontaneous character greetings occur as Disney tries to entertain guests and prevent crowd overflows.

Then, we have the Test Track situation. While Disney hasn’t suggested the opening date for the new version yet, it’s TBA summer.
July is the breathing definition of summer. So, I like your odds of being among the first to experience Test Track 3.0.

Test Track
Even if the ride isn’t ready until August, Disney will probably offer sneaks in July. But I suspect late June is the target date.
If so, you’ll time your visit perfectly to avoid the massive week one crowds for this highly anticipated new attraction.

CommuniCore Hall
To a larger point, Imagineers overhauled EPCOT over the past several years.
The end result is that even when there’s not a festival at the park, the place still has a festival feel.

You’ll find plenty of comfortable seating areas where you can eat, drink, and bask in the ambiance of Disney World’s most laid-back park.
What’s Fun in Central Florida in July?

Photo: Universal
In case you haven’t heard, Universal Orlando Resort is opening a new theme park this year.
Historically, that wouldn’t be much of a big deal, as Universal lags far behind Disney for a reason.
This time may be different, though. Universal Epic Universe promises to be the most Disney-like Universal park to date.
You’ll find immersive themed lands based on How to Train Your Dragon, Super Nintendo, Harry Potter, and Universal Classic Monsters.

Photo: Universal
Super Nintendo World is the hook here, as the other versions of this themed land around the world have proven VERY popular.
However, Dark Universe, the Classic Monsters land, may be the hidden gem.

This place will be like a daily version of Halloween Horror Nights, Universal’s signature event.
So, you may consider a split vacation this time, as new theme parks are rare in Central Florida, and this one could be special.

Photo: Major League Baseball
Something else to know about the area this summer is that Tampa Bay Rays are currently displaced.
A hurricane destroyed part of the roof of the team’s baseball stadium.

So, Tampa Bay will play at Steinbrenner Field in Tampa Bay this season. That’s only 75 miles from Magic Kingdom.
Baseball fans could do a different kind of split vacation here. It’s a rare opportunity since Steinbrenner Field has a capacity of 11,026.

You’ll watch major league baseball in a more intimate minor league stadium.
Final Thoughts

When it comes to summer vacation, parents don’t have much choice.
This is the time of the year when your family can travel to Walt Disney World without having to worry about juggling schedules.

Photo: Disney
Even better, Disney has grown a bit less crowded in July over the last five years.
So, you won’t spend quite as much time standing in line as you would have in 2019.

Disney
To a larger point, you really wouldn’t care much anyway because your family is at Disney. What could possibly be better than that?
