Water Taxi Service From Disney’s Old Key West to Disney Springs Has Been Suspended
One of my favorite things to do in all of Walt Disney World is take a leisurely trip down the Sassagoula River.
For those who don’t know, the Sassagoula River connects Disney’s Port Orleans Resorts, Saratoga Springs, Old Key West, and Disney Springs. The river and the water taxis that navigate it make up the most charming transportation system that Disney has to offer.

As you sail from Port Orleans to Disney Springs, you feel like time stands still.
The DVC Ferry at Disney’s Old Key West Is Not Running
Unfortunately, for guests currently staying at Disney’s Old Key West Resort, the water taxi to Disney Springs is currently unavailable.
When visiting the resort today, we noticed that the Disney Vacation Club Ferry was not running. The water transportation provides a direct trip to Disney Springs.
Signage at the resort’s dock notes, “Water Taxi Service from Old Key West to Disney Springs is Not Operating at this time.”
With the ferry out of commission, guests are being directed to use the Disney bus system to reach Disney Springs.
Other Water Transportation Remains Operational
When talking to Cast Members today, we learned that the DVC Ferry was suspended for dock work. The project is expected to take months.
It should also be noted that the Sassagoula River Cruise (which takes guests from Old Key West to Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort and the Treehouse Villas) is still running.
