Disney Previews Cotino Bay, the Centerpiece of the First Storyliving by Disney Community
A new chapter in Disney history is currently being written in California, where Cotino, a Storyliving by Disney Community, will soon open.
Inspired by the rich history and diverse landscape of the Coachella Valley, Cotino was master-planned by Disney, designed by Walt Disney Imagineering, and will be staffed by Disney Cast Members. Essentially, residents will get the chance to live within the Disney magic.
With just months to go until the first residents move in, Disney has shared a new look at everything that Cotino has to offer.
Cotino Bay
The centerpiece of the first Storyliving by Disney Community will be Cotino Bay, a 24-acre man-made lagoon.
“They’ll have private beaches, they’ll have kayaks, they’ll have paddleboats, then when we own town center … we will have a public beach,” Clair Bilby, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Emerging Businesses, told ABC 7.

“That will be where the public will be able to purchase a ticket to use the public beach area if they so choose.”
The Parr House
As we previously reported, another hub will be the Parr House, a gathering place inspired by Pixar’s Incredibles.

“Truly, we are taking in an animator vision of a home that we created for ‘Incredibles 2,’ and we are literally going to build the real-life version of the Parr House,” Bilby explained. “The Parr House will be the icon of Cotino.”
Cotino Will Open Soon
In just a few months, the first guests will move into Cotino. Disney can’t wait to share what they have created.

“We really wanted to honor that intersection of Walt’s ability to come out here and find creative inspiration with the beauty that we have out here,” Walt Disney Imagineering Executive Creative Director Caroline Boone told ABC. “This is a community that is all about following that spark and finding that creativity, and really seeing wherever it takes you.”
