Widespread Technical Difficulties Cause the Closure of Nearly 20 Magic Kingdom Attractions
A strange situation unfolded at Magic Kingdom on the night of February 10th, when the preponderance of the park’s attractions closed simultaneously.
Around 7:00 PM ET, widespread technical difficulties were reported, causing the closure of at least 18 different attractions. These included:
- The Barnstormer
- Country Bear Musical Jamboree
- Dumbo the Flying Elephant
- “it’s a small world”
- Mad Tea Party
- The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh
- Mickey’s PhilharMagic
- Peter Pan’s Flight
- Pirates of the Caribbean
- Prince Charming Regal Carrousel
- Seven Dwarfs Mine Train
- Space Mountain
- Tiana’s Bayou Adventure
- The Tomorrowland Speedway
- Under the Sea – Journey of The Little Mermaid and Walt Disney’s Carousel of Progress.
What Attractions Remained Open
With limited attractions to choose from, the wait times for the remaining Magic Kingdom attractions quickly swelled.
The attractions that remained open through the outage included Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin, Haunted Mansion, Jungle Cruise, Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor, Princess Fairytale Hall, the Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover, and TRON Lightcycle/Run.

As you can see, the majority of the open attractions were in Tomorrowland.
The Current Situation
By 9 PM ET, some of the Magic Kingdom attractions had reopened. However, Dumbo the Flying Elephant, Haunted Mansion, “It’s a small world,” The Magic Carpets of Aladdin, Pirates of the Caribbean, Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, Space Mountain, and Tiana’s Bayou Adventure remained closed.
