Former Disney Channel Star Christy Carlson Romano Is Recovering After Being Shot in the Face
Former Disney Channel star Christy Carlson Romano is recovering after being shot in the face during a birthday event for her husband on Friday.
If you grew up watching Disney Channel in the 1990s and early 2000s, you undoubtedly remember Romano. The actress is perhaps best known for portraying Ren in Even Stevens and providing the voice of Kim Possible.
Her other Disney credits include a starring role in Cadet Kelly as Jennifer Stone and a seven-month run as Belle in Disney’s Broadway production of Beauty and the Beast.

Romano Was Accidentally Shot in the Face While Celebrating Her Husband’s Birthday
In a new video message posted for fans, Romano revealed that she had taken her husband to shoot clay pigeons as a birthday present when tragedy struck.
“There was another party with us and they unsafely fired in the wrong direction and shot me in the face,” she explained.

After the incident, Romano’s husband drove her to St. David’s South Austin Medical Center in Austin, Texas, where doctors treated her wounds.
“I was hit in 5 places, one was less than an inch from hitting me directly in my right eye,” she explained.

“Unfortunately, a fragment got lodged behind my eye, and it is too risky to remove surgically at this time. Doctors will continue to monitor me (I can see normally at the moment).”

Thankfully, it sounds like Romano is going to recover from the incident. Nevertheless, it was a harrowing experience.
With everything that happened, all I can think about is how grateful I am to be alive,” she concluded. “I’m telling you, hug the people around you every chance you can. Life can change in an instant.”
