Stitch Won the Super Bowl Before It Started
There we were, explaining to my elderly mom how to stream the Super Bowl.
Suddenly, I heard my wife squeal with glee, and I knew something big had happened.
Stitch had appeared in a Super Bowl commercial, and all was right with the world.
As he streaked toward the end zone, I knew Disney had a blockbuster on its hands.
What Just Happened?

Everyone who follows the advertising battle at the Super Bowl knows a secret.
The best value happens just after the coin flip, when commercials cost less than half as much, but everyone is already watching.

Paramount Pictures took advantage of this opportunity by airing a trailer for its upcoming Tom Cruise movie, Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning.
Disney took a different approach, and it was MUCH more effective. Check out this ad that more than 100 million Americans just watched:
Yes, there was something on the field, and that something was the beloved Disney character, Stitch.

In case you’ve forgotten, Stitch has a movie to promote: The live-action remake of Lilo & Stitch on May 23rd, 2025.
And everyone who just watched this adorable clip now wants to watch the film.
I strongly suspect that Disney just won the Super Bowl before the opening kick had even happened.
I’m not just saying that because nobody could tackle the adorable little alien, either. That was a glee-inducing 30-second clip.

There’s only 103 days until Stitch-mas, everyone! That’s the real Super Bowl of 2025!
Oh, and to anyone who says differently, all I’ve got to say is, “Meega, nala kweesta!”
