PHOTOS: Guests Flock to Disney California Adventure to Say Goodbye to the Red Car Trolley
While the Red Car Trolley was never the most popular attraction at Disney California Adventure, it was, perhaps, the most important.
Originally opening on June 15, 2012, as part of the park’s overhaul, the Red Car Trolley was inspired by the Pacific Electric Railway’s Red Cars, which were once a staple of Southern California.
Like the Main Street Vehicles at Disneyland Park, the attraction was essential to Disney California Adventure’s theme. The Red Car Trolley immersed guests in the atmosphere of Buena Vista Street, offering a leisurely ride to Sunset Boulevard.

For many, a ride on the Red Car Trolley was the perfect way to start a day at Disney California Adventure.
Guests Say Goodbye to the Red Car Trolley
Unfortunately, last year, Disney announced that the Red Car Trolley would be closing to make way for the expansion of Avengers Campus.

As yesterday was the final day to ride the Red Car Trolley, guests flocked to Disney California Adventure for a last trip aboard the iconic transportation.

For one last day, guests could hear the unmistakable bells and whistles of the Red Car Trolley echoing down Buena Vista Street.
One Trolley Will Remain Parked on Buena Vista Street
The good news for guests is that we have not seen the last of the trollies. Going forward, one Red Car Trolley will remain parked on Buena Vista Street as a photo op.
