MickeyBlog News for February 10th, 2025
This week, we’ve got bugs and butterflies and droids and tigers. Oh, my!
But we’ll mainly talk about tons of changes happening in and around the parks in the latest MickeyBlog News.
Busy Days at Disneyland Resort
This has become one of the most hectic starts at Disneyland in recent memory.
There’s a comical amount happening at The Happiest Place on Earth.

So, while I cannot wait to talk about Baby Bakso, let’s quickly discuss several significant events.
First, Celebrate Soulfully is now underway at the parks. Celebrity host Tamron Hall kicked off this year’s festivities.

She is the Grand Marshall of this year’s event, which MickeyBlog has already attended.
We updated you on several of the unique menu items available for a limited time during this event.

Also, there’s an exclusive photo op during Celebrate Soulfully, too!
The other big news is that Disneyland will refurbish several attractions in time for the Disneyland 70 celebration.

Indiana Jones Adventure will close on March 17th, but we don’t know when it will reopen yet.
However, we did receive a clarification on Guardians of the Galaxy — Mission: BREAKOUT!

This thrill ride will close on March 10th but reopen on March 21st. So, it’s undergoing a quick renovation.
Something else to know at the park is that Droid Depot will no longer accept reservations.

Also, Disneyland After Dark: 90’s Nite has sold out for this year.
On the plus side, Pixar Pier Hotel will host the popular Pixar Putt temporary installation currently roaming around the country.

You can play starting on Tuesday, February 11th. It’s supposed to be really fun.
Also, the CHOC Walk in the Park is coming back to Disneyland Resort on August 3rd. You can read more details here.

The Incredibles
This is a lovely event, and you should participate if possible. You’ll never forget the experience!
Finally, Disneyland did this, and I love them for it. Southern California firefighters are the biggest heroes of 2025 to date.

Eye of the (Baby) Tiger
In October 2024, Disney’s Animal Kingdom welcomed baby Bakso to the world.
Disney showed pictures of Bakso’s mom, Sohni, proudly displaying her new cub.

Since tigers are especially beautiful creatures, the internet promptly lost its collective mind in praising the new baby.
The internet is already built squarely on the backbone of cute animal pictures anyway.

Even by those standards, Bakso quickly differentiated himself as one of the most adorable baby kittens in the world.
Disney officials knew they had a superstar on their hands and quickly introduced Bakso Tuesday updates.

MickeyBlog has squealed with delight in posting the highlights each week, and Disney has even added some YouTube entries.
Until recently, park guests hadn’t been able to watch the baby, whom Disney kept mostly hidden from sight.
Well, that changed this past week when guests at Maharajah Jungle Trek finally had their chance.
Let’s just say that people rushed the gates for this highly anticipated opportunity.

At one point on Tuesday, the wait for baby Bakso was the third-longest at the park!

Also, you can watch the adorable lil dude yourself at Maharajah Jungle Trek.
Please be aware that Disney has limited Bakso’s time in the spotlight each day as the infant tiger learns his new routine.

The Next Animal Kingdom Closure
As you well know, Animal Kingdom is undergoing many changes at the moment.
Mama Sohni the tiger probably doesn’t even recognize the place, although the next version of Animal Kingdom will be all Bakso ever knows.

DinoLand USA
But seriously. DinoLand USA has already closed three experiences with the rest to follow later this year.
At the 2024 D23 Expo, Disney also confirmed one other change. A new show based on Zootopia is coming to the park.

Entitled Zootopia: Better Zoogether!, it promises to be an instant hit since it’ll arrive this winter.
Around that time, Zootopia 2 will debut in theaters, as its scheduled release date is November 26th, 2025.

That’s the same release strategy Disney employed with Moana 2, which isn’t a coincidence.
Disney has high hopes that Zootopia will be its hot brand at the end of 2025 and start of 2026.

Toward that end, Disney will add this Zootopia show at Animal Kingdom.
First, Disney must reclaim that space, though. The upcoming attraction will take over the former location of It’s Tough to Be a Bug!

So, Disney just confirmed the closing date for one of the few remaining opening day attractions at Animal Kingdom.
Your last chance to watch It’s Tough to Be a Bug! is March 17th, 2025.

It’s Tough to Be a Bug
That’s five weeks and one day from now. If you’re a fan of the show or simply feeling sentimental, you’d better act fast!

The first thing I should mention is that Disney has loosened the rules on Disability Access Services.
Disney has expanded the sign-up window to make it easier for families to plan ahead.

Disability Access Service
Speaking of booking digital reservations, Lightning Lane Premier Pass is an unqualified hit right now.
Obviously, anything can change about this stuff, but the Premier Pass has sold out several times since it expanded availability.

Notably, this Friday and Saturday are already booked at Magic Kingdom, which appears to be the most in-demand Premier Pass.
At EPCOT, preparations are underway for the 2025 Butterfly Landing, a popular part of the EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival.

You should also know that the Disney Free Dining offer this year ends Monday, February 10th.
So, if you’re reading this on Sunday, you’ve got just a few hours left to book your Disney vacation and gain free dining in the deal.
