PHOTOS: How’s Walt Disney Studios Park Looking Right Now? (Construction, Closures…and Christmas Decorations?)
There’s no denying that the Walt Disney Studios park in Disneyland Paris has seen better days.
Currently in the midst of a huge-scale transformation — which will see new lands, new rides, and even a new name for the park — the Studios are covered with construction walls right now, with lots of areas impacted or totally inaccessible to guests.
Of course, it’s not all bad — we’ve got all kinds of magic ahead! But, while the future of this park is filled with excitement, it’s easy to see why Disneyland Paris guests may have reservations about visiting the Walt Disney Studios during this time of transition.
If you’re planning a visit to Disneyland Paris early in 2025 — or indeed if you’re just curious as to the state of the Walt Disney Studios park right now — keep reading. We’ve got a full park walk-around report for you here, to show you what areas are impacted, what’s still open, and what we can expect from the coming months.
Are you ready? Let’s go!
Walt Disney Studios
NOTE: All photos were taken at the end of January 2025.
Ok, we’ve made it through the ticket booths, and we’re in!
If you’ve visited the Walt Disney Studios in the past few months, you’ll know that guests are directed into the park round the left of the former Studio 1 building, which is currently closed as part of the park’s ongoing entranceway overhaul.
Today this is still the case, as we naturally follow the pathway around the side of the building.
Thankfully, there’s still time to snap a photo with the iconic Sorcerer Mickey statue, still present and correct in the center of the courtyard!
While Studio 1 closed in April 2024, we’re pleased to see the entranceway renovation is scheduled to be complete sometime in Spring 2025.
Not long to go!
Something that is also quite interesting to note is that the Studio 1 building still prominently bears the name “Walt Disney Studios.”
As the entire park will soon be renamed to “Disney Adventure World,” we’re interested to see whether this banner will be re-painted here at the park entrance, or whether it will be left as a nod to the former “Studios” identity of the park.
Either way, we’ll be keeping a close eye on this development!
Construction Walls
When construction happens at a Disney park, it’s not uncommon for Imagineers to hide the work using scrim and walls themed to the distinct park areas.
Throughout the Walt Disney Studios park, we’re seeing walls painted in the same sandy shade as Studio 1, yet bearing countless posters and information to help guests on their visit.
Directional signage, maps, showtimes, and attraction advertisements are featured on all the walls, as well as concept art for the future of the Disney Adventure World park.
Behind Studios 1, 2, and 3, the front of the park is alarmingly covered with construction walls, which create a sort of tunnel leading guests between Production Courtyard and the “Worlds of Pixar” in Toon Studio.
While this can become a bit of a bottleneck of high crowds during peak times, these high walls do serve the purpose of completely obscuring the view of the construction around the front of Studio 1.
We’re grateful to not have to look at any unsightly construction, but it does leave us feeling ever-so intrigued as to what could be going on back there!
Limited Attractions
While Walt Disney Studios has never been known for having a huge roster of must-do attractions, it’s certainly not a park you’d want to skip on a Disneyland Paris visit. After all, some of the resort’s most iconic attractions live here — and they’re still accessible despite all this ongoing construction.
Wondering what attractions are currently open at the Walt Disney Studios Park in February 2025?
Well, here’s your list:
- Avengers Assemble: Flight Force
- Cars Quatre Roues Rallye
- Cars ROAD TRIP
- Crush’s Coaster
- Les Tapis Volants – Flying Carpets Over Agrabah
- RC Racer
- Ratatouille: L’Aventure Totalement Toquée de Rémy
- Slinky Dog Zigzag Spin
- Spider-Man W.E.B. Adventure
- The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror
- Toy Soldiers Parachute Drop
In terms of shows, there’s also:
- Stitch Live!
- TOGETHER: A Pixar Musical Adventure
- Minnie’s Musical Moment
Other shows, including Frozen: A Musical Invitation and Mickey and the Magician, are scheduled to return later in the year.
While there aren’t parades currently happening at this park, plenty of unique character meet & greets still happen, as well as the Doctor Strange show in the evening.
Speaking of characters — look! Spider-Man has come out to say hello!
Especially to any guests who are hesitant to visit this park before overhaul work is complete, we’d urge you not to skip, as the attraction offerings are still so unique and unmissable here at the Studios.
Food Options
This being said, it is worth mentioning that, while the attractions are still going strong, the availability of food and drink in this park is currently much less impressive.
At the moment, there are currently two table service restaurants open in this park — Bistrot Chez Remy and PYM Kitchen (a buffet). For both of these spots, advance reservations are definitely recommended.
Aside from this, Stark Factory is the only open quick service restaurant, which is ideal for guests who would like to sit inside somewhere without worrying about advance reservations. Then, it’s just food wagons such as the WEB Food Truck or the FAN-tastic Food Truck where guests can grab a bite.
Can We See Construction?
Food and attractions aside, let’s take a moment to look forward to the future of the soon-to-be Disney Adventure World park.
With the all-new Frozen-inspired land on the way, plus the Tangled-themed area and attraction coming soon, the future of this corner of Disneyland Paris is looking brighter than ever before!
For now, while the construction walls are doing a fabulous job at obscuring the works, we’re always going to be eagerly looking at cranes and scaffolding to try and imagine what exciting new developments lie beneath!
If there are any thrill-seeking readers out there, we’d imagine that the views might be much clearer from atop the high attractions such as RC Racer, Toy Soldier Parachute Drop, or even Tower of Terror.
I, however, will be electing to stick to ground-level views from behind these walls!
What Month is It?
As we continue our tour over to the Ratatouille area of the park, I come to you with a surprisingly festive update.
A string of holiday food market stalls can still be found here, serving up Christmassy treats such as waffles, raclette, and even mulled wine to guests.
Furthermore — look at these Christmas decorations, still adorning the trees!
It may be February, but we can’t complain too much about such pretty sights!
Especially in the Ratatouille area of the park, which remains one of the most beautiful areas, without any construction to be seen nearby.
Exciting Things Ahead
Thank you for joining us on our quick walk-around of the Walt Disney Studios park here at Disneyland Paris!
We hope you’ve found it helpful, especially if you’re planning a visit and are unsure as to how the ongoing reimagining has affected the state of the park.
In conclusion, we’d say that yes, the park is still looking somewhat distressed, but don’t let that put you off visiting to ride all the fabulous attractions still open to guests.
In the meantime, we’ll all be eagerly looking forward to the next era of the Walt Disney Studios park, as it transforms into Disney Adventure World with many more surprises in store!
