The Magic Kingdom Lightning Lane Premier Pass Has SOLD OUT For the Second Time in Six Days
During The Walt Disney Company’s earnings report this morning, Disney CFO Hugh Johnston was asked for his assessment of the new Lightning Lane Premier Pass.
As a quick recap, the Premier Pass is the highest-tier Lightning Lane pass. Now available to all Disney World guests, the pass allows a one-time entry to each Lightning Lane experience at one park.
Additionally, guests do not need to schedule their arrival for each Lightning Lane attraction. They can simply show up and ride!
Disney Has Been Happy With the Early Results
When assessing the Lightning Lane Premiere Pass this morning, Johnston assserted that the offering was meeting Disney’s expectations.
“Lighting Lane, we’re launching that product. But remember, it is a premium product, it is a product that we are learning how to use. So we are marketing it very gently initially,” he said.

“It’s very much in line with our expectations, but we are moving slowly with that product in order to make it a great experience both for the purchasers of Lightning Lane and for the rest of our guests in the park. So feel great about it. It’s going to build over time, but it’s certainly very much early days.”
Magic Kingdom Lightning Lane Premier Pass Sells Out AGAIN
Just hours after Johnston’s statement, the Magic Kingdom Lightning Lane Premier Pass has sold out today.
This now marks the second time in the last six days that Premier Pass has sold out at Disney World’s flagship park. Before the sellout, the pass was selling for $329.
It should be noted that both sellouts came shortly after Disney World made the Premier Pass available to non-resort guests. Additionally, the resort is currently in the midst of its “slow season.”
The fact that the Magic Kingdom Lightning Lane Premier Pass sold out on a random Wednesday in February may point to how popular the service has become. With spring break and warmer weather on the horizon, it will be interesting to see how high the demand for the Premier Pass is.
