MASSIVE Crowds Descend on Disney’s Animal Kingdom to See Baby Bakso
If you have been reading along here at MickeyBlog, you know that we are enamored with the newest star of Disney’s Animal Kingdom—baby Basko.
After watching the Sumatran tiger’s growth and development as part of Disney’s Tiger Tuesdays series, we finally got to see Bakso make his debut on the Maharajah Jungle Trek last week!
As it turns out, we are not the only Bakso fans out there.
Crowds Have Flocked to See Bakso
Since he arrived at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, guests have flocked to the Asia section of the park to see Bakso in person!
Unfortunately, because the tiger cub is still getting used to his on-stage home, Bakso is only out for short intervals in the mornings.
His limited availability has made Maharajah Jungle Trek one of the most popular Animal Kingdom attractions to rope drop.
The Scene From Animal Kingdom Today
When visiting the park today, we headed straight to Asia to catch up with Bakso.
A new entrance has been set up for the queue, and we were joined by hundreds of other guests who wanted to see the tiger cub too.
Needless to say, the lines for Maharajah Jungle Trek have swelled over the last few days. Yesterday, the wait time reached 40 minutes!
Today, the line stretched from the tiger enclosure all the way to the attraction’s exit!
As you can see, Bakso has A LOT of fans.
To keep the line moving and ensure that as many guests get to see Bakso as possible, Cast Members are giving individuals approximately five minutes to view the tiger cub and take pictures.
While there is no official wait time, the Cast Members we talked to estimated that the line was currently 45 to 60 minutes long.
So, if you want to see Bakso, plan ahead! You may have to wait a while, but seeing the tiger cub in person is definitely worth it!
Just remember that at this point, Bakso is only available for viewing first thing in the morning, so the sooner you get there — the better!

Afternoon Update
As of 11:15 AM ET, the line to see Bakso had reached an hour long. According to the Cast Members we talked to, the tiger cub is normally brought inside at 11:30 AM.
With that in mind, Cast Members are warning guests that they cannot guarantee they will get the opportunity to see Bakso, though they are free to get in line and wait.
