Time-Lapse Camera Installed to Capture Construction at Disney’s Animal Kingdom
With Chester and Hester’s Dino-Rama officially closed at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, work has begun on the park’s new Tropical Americas land.
As a quick recap, Disney is closing DinoLand U.S.A. in phases, giving fans a chance to say goodbye to their favorite attractions while also preserving some of the park’s much-needed capacity.
To that end, Chester and Hester’s Dino-Rama, which included TriceraTop Spin, the Fossil Fun Games, and Chester and Hester’s Dinosaur Treasure, officially closed on January 12.

Since then, we have seen construction walls go up, and the demolition of the mini-land commence.
Eventually, the area that is now Dino-Rama will be part of Pueblo Esperanza and will house a new Encanto-themed dark ride.
Disney Has Installed a Time-Lapse Camera
As construction on Disney’s newest land begins, a time-lapse camera has been installed atop the former Chester and Hester’s Dinosaur Treasures building.
The camera is a CinemaCam from Earth Cam and is powered by solar energy!
By the look of things, Disney will use this camera to capture the construction of Tropical Americas as it unfolds.
Capturing the Construction
Over the last decade or so, Disney has done a great job of providing behind-the-scenes looks and updates on its major construction projects.
With the new time-lapse camera in place, we may see how Tropical Americas’s construction develops over time.
