Walt Disney World Wait Times for End of January 2025
Walt Disney World just enjoyed a better January than usual, hinting at higher attendance in 2025.
As the cherry on top, Lightning Lane Premier Pass, which didn’t even exist a few months ago, sold out last Friday.

That was just a random Friday in January! You know things are going well when something inexplicable like this occurs.
So, you should already have a good idea about how Disney’s year is going. You still want to know the specifics, though.

Crowds
Here are Walt Disney World’s average wait times for the end of January and start of February 2025.
Disney’s Animal Kingdom

Tree of Life
We’re a couple of weeks into the big changes at Animal Kingdom.
Disney closed three experiences but then brought back another from the 2010s to compensate.
So, we’ve lost Chester and Hester’s Dino-Rama, but Russell and Dug are back. We’ll call it a wash.
Thus far, I’m not reading anything into the modest behavioral changes among park guests since January is still the slow season.
Still, I think we all understand that the phased shutdown of DinoLand USA has to have at least some impact on the park.
Here are Animal Kingdom’s average wait times last week:
- Avatar Flight of Passage – 89 minutes, up 9
- Na’vi River Journey – 62 minutes, up 7
- Kilimanjaro Safaris – 50 minutes, up 10
- Expedition Everest – 41 minutes, down 2
- Adventurers Outpost – 40 minutes, down 1
- DINOSAUR – 30 minutes, down 10
- It’s Tough to Be a Bug! – 14 minutes, up 4

Overall, guests waited for an average of 47 minutes, which is two more than last time.
You’ll notice that DINOSAUR fell the most, which I attribute to less foot traffic at DinoLand USA.
That’s a potentially premature conclusion, though. It’s something we’ll track for the next several weeks.
Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Galactic Starcruiser
The big news at Hollywood Studios technically still isn’t confirmed.
According to a report, the former Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser building is being converted into office space.

Disney is doing this to make life easier for the Imagineers tasked with the Monstropolis conversion.
While none of this should impact the park, it’s still fascinating to watch the evolution of Hollywood Studios unfold.

Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway
Here are the park’s average wait times last week:
- Slinky Dog Dash – 78 minutes, up 2
- Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance – 70 minutes, down 15
- Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith – 59 minutes, down 3
- Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway – 52 minutes, up 2
- Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run – 49 minutes, up 1
- Toy Story Mania! – 48 minutes, down 2
- Twilight Zone Tower of Terror – 47 minutes, down 2
- Red Carpet Dreams – 41 minutes, up 2
- Alien Swirling Saucers – 34 minutes, up 2
- Celebrity Spotlight – 21 minutes, no change
- Star Tours – The Adventures Continue! – 17 minutes, no change
- Muppet*Vision 3D – 10 minutes, no change
Overall, guests stood in line for an average of 40 minutes, which is the same as last week.
EPCOT
Festival season continues here, as the EPCOT International Festival of the Arts is ongoing.
As soon as this festival ends, Cast Members will begin preparations for the EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival.

So, EPCOT should maintain a steady flow of traffic indefinitely. As things stand, it’s Disney World’s second-most popular park.
How does that translate in terms of lines? Here are EPCOT’s average wait times last week:
- Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure – 69 minutes, up 5
- Frozen Ever After – 63 minutes, up 2
- Soarin’ Around the World – 52 minutes, up 2
- Royal Sommerhus – 46 minutes, up 3
- Meet Mickey & Friends – 32 minutes, up 2
- The Seas with Nemo & Friends – 30 minutes, up 2
- Spaceship Earth – 24 minutes, down 1
- Living with the Land – 23 minutes, no change
- Mission: SPACE – 21 minutes, no change
- Turtle Talk with Crush – 20 minutes, up 1
- Journey into Imagination with Figment – 19 minutes, down 2

Final Thoughts

Cinderella Castle
Overall, Magic Kingdom guests stood in line for an average of 29 minutes per attraction, which is two minutes more than last time.
So, two parks increased their wait times last week while two others held steady.

Magic Kingdom
In other words, attendance increased by a very modest amount.
I’ll add that the average waits were higher during the same week in 2024, but I suspect attendance is actually up this year.

Disney
The difference is that incremental changes in digital queuing have subtly reduced wait times despite larger crowds.
Again, this is a theory we’ll test over the next several weeks.
