NEWS: The Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser to Be Converted Into WDI Offices
Fans of the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser–specifically those who were hoping for an eventual return or guest-facing repurposing–will want to pay attention to the latest rumblings about its fate.

Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser
The all-inclusive Star Wars experience, which opened in 2022 and closed in 2023, provided its guests with an immersive stay on the Halycon (a hotel)–but it came with a hefty price tag. There’s quite a bit of speculation about why the experience truly closed–including price–but many stayed hopeful that the space would eventually come back to life with the same–or a similar–experience. However, that doesn’t seem to be on the horizon.
Future of the Galactic Starcruiser
According to The Wrap, several sources–including one close to the company–have stated that the Galactic Starcruiser building will be converted into offices for Walt Disney Imagineering (WDI). Apparently, this building will now be used “as a hub for several expansion projects coming to the expansive Walt Disney World Resort.”

This, allegedly, includes the Encanto, Indiana Jones, Cars, and Monsters, Inc. projects. This new update contradicts previous rumors that the building would be used for a long dinner theater experience, where the building’s bridge, bar, restaurant, and gift shop would remain open. However, sources have firmly stated that the building will not be accessible to guests at all.

The Wrap notes that Disney took a tax write-down for the Galactic Starcruiser, which freezes the building for a specific amount of time.
