Disney Hires Former Meta Executive Andre Rohe to Lead Product Engineering for Disney Entertainment and ESPN
The Walt Disney Company has tapped former Meta senior engineering executive Andre Rohe to lead a newly created product engineering team that will work within the Disney Entertainment and ESPN technology group.
In his new role, Rohe will report directly to Adam Smith, chief product and technology officer for Disney Entertainment and ESPN. Disney hired Smith last September after a twenty-year career at YouTube and Google.
“Andre is an incredibly talented technologist that brings not only a deep background in managing world-class engineering teams and years of expertise in scaled recommendation and product personalization, but also a truly collaborative spirit,” Smith said in a statement.

“He’s a great addition to Disney and ESPN, leading an outstanding team and working alongside other technologists and leaders in our media businesses. His skill and leadership will add to our capacity to innovate and elevate the impact that our products have on global audiences.”
Rohe Has Experience at Google and YouTube
Rohe most recently served as VP of engineering at Meta, working at the company from October 2021 through March 2023. Prior to that he worked at YouTube and Google. It was during this time that Rohe and Smith previously worked together.
Under Rohe, numerous Disney Entertainment and ESPN product engineering teams will be consolidated into a single unit focused on digital products and platforms.
