Creative Ways to Beat the Rain at Walt Disney World
Don’t let a rainy day like today dampen your fun! It’s true that we don’t often experience these grey clouds and cold spells, but when we do, it can upset even the most optimistic Disney fan.
Rain might seem like a damper on your Disney vacation, but with a bit of creativity, you can turn a gray day into a magical memory.

Here are some creative ways to make the most of a rainy day at the parks.
1. Embrace Indoor Attractions
Rainy weather is the perfect time to explore Disney’s iconic indoor attractions. Head to Magic Kingdom for favorites like It’s a Small World, Pirates of the Caribbean, or The Haunted Mansion.
The Country Bears Musical Jamboree and the Enchanted Tiki Room are also great options that combine an attraction and show in one!
Visiting EPCOT? Immerse yourself in the chill vibes of Spaceship Earth or take a ride on Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure.

Each park offers something fun inside! Indoor rides will not only keep you dry but sometimes offer shorter lines as some guests leave the park early to avoid the rain.
2. Enjoy Tasty Eats and Drinks
A rainy day is a fantastic opportunity to slow down and enjoy some of Disney’s amazing dining experiences.

Treat yourself to a leisurely meal at Be Our Guest in Magic Kingdom, or check out Sanaa at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge.
Don’t have a reservation? No worries- rainy days mean plans change for many guests, and that hard-to-get-into dining location you have been eyeing may just open up!

Want to still enjoy a fast meal? Quick-service spots like Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Café or Regal Eagle Smokehouse provide cozy indoor seating and delicious meal options.
3. Catch a Show
This is my favorite way to wait out rain at the theme parks. Disney is known for its world-class entertainment, and catching a show at the park is a great way to sit down, relax, and still have fun on a rainy day.

My second favorite? Over at Animal Kingdom, Festival of the Lion King offers Broadway-quality performances in a covered theater.

These shows let you stay dry while enjoying unforgettable entertainment.
4. Go Resort Hopping
Rainy days are the perfect time to explore Disney’s resorts. Hop on a monorail to visit the Disney’s Grand Floridian, Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, and Disney’s Contemporary Resort.

5. Shop ‘Til You Drop
Disney’s gift shops and merchandise locations feature so many magical finds.
Head to Disney Springs for an entire shopping, dining, and entertainment complex featuring plenty of shops to browse,
Also, check out the smaller gift shops in the hotels for themed finds. For nautical and coastal items, visit Disney’s Yacht and Beach. Or, for tropical gifts and souvenirs, visit BouTiki in Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort.
Bonus MickeyBlog Tip: Look Ahad and Pack Rainy Day Essentials
The best way to make the most of your day is to plan ahead and check the weather apps. The weather in Central Florida changes quickly, so being prepared is essential.

Pack a lightweight poncho, wear waterproof shoes or sneakers, and an extra layer to keep you cozy in chilly indoor spaces.
Don’t let a rainy day get you down! Whether you’re exploring indoor attractions, indulging in delicious food, or enjoying world-class entertainment, there are plenty of ways to have rainy day fun.
