Bob Iger Pens a Letter to Shareholders as Disney Announces the Date For Its 2025 Annual Shareholders Meeting
The Walt Disney Company announced today that its 2025 Annual Meeting of Shareholders will be held Thursday, March 20, at 10:00 AM PT.
Ahead of the annual meeting, Disney CEO Bob Iger released a letter to shareholders, celebrating Disney’s “pivotal and successful” 2024.
“Amid ongoing and unprecedented industry disruptions, we have emerged from a period of considerable challenges well positioned for growth and optimistic about our future,” he wrote.

“What has long set Disney apart is the way we successfully leverage our business to work seamlessly together to generate value. That was the case this past fiscal year across our Entertainment, Sports, and Experiences segments.”
In his letter, Iger highlights Disney’s many successes in Fiscal Year 2024, singling out each of the company’s major divisions.
Disney Entertainment’s Historic Year
Disney Entertainment had a historic year at the box office, spurred on by the successes of Inside Out 2, Deadpool & Wolverine, and Moana 2.

Disney+, meanwhile, finally reached profitability. By the end of 2024, the streaming service had 120 million core subscribers.
“We continued to make progress toward turning our streaming businesses into significant growth drivers for the Company,” Iger said.
The Bright Future of Disney Experiences
As for Disney Experiences, Iger highlighted the opening of Lighthouse Point, the launch of the Disney Treasure, and the multiple projects the company announced for its global parks.

“Our Experiences businesses remain the gold standard for the industry, and we are confident in the segment’s long-term prospects and committed to investing to drive continued long-term growth,” Iger declared.
ESPN and Looking Ahead
Finally, there is ESPN, which delivered record ratings last year and is preparing to launch its Flagship streaming service.

“For all these strategic priorities, creative excellence remains at the center of our work as we build our business and seek to drive shareholder value. We will continue to strive to keep high quality and bold storytelling front and center for our Company to set us apart from others,” Iger concluded the letter.
