Blizzard Beach Closure Extended Again at Disney World
Brrr, this cold snap really has gotten us all wrapped up here in Orlando!
Once again, the chill of the winter is being felt at Walt Disney World, and it is certainly affecting some areas of the resort quite a bit more than most.
Undeniably, it’s the water parks at Walt Disney World that feel the cold the most, and right now it’s Disney’s Blizzard Beach, which has been forced to close its gates to guests.
Considering Blizzard Beach is famously themed like a winter ski resort, it’s kind of ironic that it’s the winter weather shutting down its slopes!
If you’ve been following along with MickeyBlog, you’ll know that Blizzard Beach has been closed on and off for quite a bit of January already. Now, when our MickeyBloggers checked the park calendar, we noticed that the closure has been extended once again, covering the rest of this week!
As you can see, Blizzard Beach will be closed today (January 23) and will remain shut through Saturday, January 25.
At present, the park is scheduled to open from 10am-5pm on Sunday, but keep an eye on that calendar in case it changes again!
For guests visiting Walt Disney World this week, it’s also worth remembering that the second resort water park — Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon — is also shut at this time for planned maintenance.
This means that any guests eager to swim will have to make use of the hotel pools instead — but we’d advise you to stay warm if you do so!
As always, be sure to stay tuned to MickeyBlog.com for all the latest news and updates from Walt Disney World and beyond. There’s still so much to enjoy at the resort while the weather is chilly, but we’re hopeful we’ll see the slopes of Blizzard Beach back open as normal very soon!
