Two High School Seniors Got the Surprise of a Lifetime When Mickey Mouse Showed Up at School
Last week, we brought you the exciting news that Disney had officially revealed the Disney Dreamers Academy Class of 2025.
For those who don’t know, the Disney Dreamers Academy is a mentoring program at Walt Disney World designed to inspire and empower students from diverse communities. The goal is to encourage them to “explore limitless possibilities and turn their dreams into reality.”
While the selection was a magical moment for all 100 students in the program, it was especially meaningful for two high schoolers.

Meet Owen and Alief
At Trinity Christian School in Sharpsburg, Georgia, senior Owen Osborne thought he was heading to another class assembly when he got the surprise of a lifetime.
Walking into the gym, Owen was greeted by 250 students, Mickey Mouse, and Walt Disney World Ambassador Shannon Smith-Conrad, who delivered the exciting news that he had been chosen as a Disney Dreamer.

Meanwhile, at Alief Taylor High School just outside of Houston, senior Jayden Kelly was sitting in algerbra class when she was surprised by Mickey Mouse himself!

The Disney Dreamers Academy
The Disney Dreamers Academy will take place at Walt Disney World from March 26 through March 30, 2025. There, Disney Dreamers will be able to connect with business leaders, celebrities, and Disney executives as they attend workshops and seminars designed to fuel their career aspirations.

They will also develop communication, networking, and leadership skills.
