The Hall of Presidents Closes For Refurbishment as Donald Trump’s Second Term Begins

With the inaguration of President Donald Trump set to take place in just a few hours, Walt Disney World’s Hall of Presidents has closed for refurbishment.

As is tradition, the opening-day Walt Disney World attraction will now be updated to reflect the new President of the United States. While Disney has not announced any specifics regarding the attraction’s closure, we can glean some information from past refurbishments.

How Long Will the Refurbishment Last?

When the Hall of Presidents reopens will likely depend on how many changes Disney makes to the attraction.

Generally speaking, the Hall of Presidents closes between six and eight months when a new president is added. As Donald Trump already served as the 45th President of the United States, however, the latest refurbishment may not take as long.

President Trump previously recorded a speech for the attraction during his first term. It is unclear at this time if that speech will be reused or if a new recording will be created.

Additionally, Disney has previously constructed a Donald Trump audio animatronic, which should speed the refurbishment’s timeline up.

Are Other Changes in the Works?

That said, Disney World has been known to make other changes to the Hall of Presidents to debut alongside the new president. While the basic structure of the show has remained the same, the video, images, and narration used to present America’s presidents have changed over the years.

While it does not appear that Disney plans to drastically alter the attraction’s basic structure, rumors that the Hall of Presidents’s days are numbered continue to swirl.

For now, it looks like we will have to wait and see.
