Walt Disney World Wait Times for Third Week of January 2025
The EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival has started.
Typically, the new festival brings more fans to the parks, especially on opening day.
Those of you following along with MickeyBlog’s reporters on Friday know that we covered all of it.
The one thing we haven’t discussed yet is how the crowds were.
We’ll only get a partial view this time, as this week’s wait times cover just a couple of festival dates.
We should still track some impact, though. So, here are Walt Disney World’s average wait times for the third week of January 2025.
Disney’s Animal Kingdom

At Animal Kingdom, the change has finally occurred. During this week, TriceraTop Spin closed for good.
Demolition has already started on the attraction. It’s gone-gone!
Meanwhile, Disney replaced one closed character greeting with a newly returned one.
As an Up fanatic, I welcome the return of Russell & Dug, but I’m not tracking their wait time this week.

Dug and Russell
We did back in 2019, but much has changed since then. I may add it later. There’s just not enough data yet, though.
So, we’ll track adjustments this week as Animal Kingdom reconfigures crowd behavior during its modified state.
Here are the park’s average wait times last week:
- Avatar Flight of Passage – 64 minutes, down 21
- Na’vi River Journey – 55 minutes, down 3
- Kilimanjaro Safaris – 39 minutes, down 8
- Adventurers Outpost – 33 minutes, down 4
- Expedition Everest – 32 minutes, down 15
- DINOSAUR – 25 minutes, down 10
- It’s Tough to Be a Bug! – 10 minutes, no change

Overall, Animal Kingdom attractions averaged a wait of 37 minutes, which is five minutes less than last time.
I don’t want to read too much into this behavior yet, but I will make two points.

DINOSAUR
The first is that we’re looking at a ten-minute drop from the same timeframe in 2024.
The other is that DINOSAUR’s wait time, while down, fell at the same rate as the rest of the park’s attractions.
So, there’s no data yet suggesting that DinoLand USA has been abandoned by tourists. It’s something we’ll keep tracking, though.
Disney’s Hollywood Studios

This past week, Hollywood Studios and Magic Kingdom were the calm parks with nothing unusual happening.
So, they’ll work as the control data during a highly unusual week for Disney wait times.

Here are the average wait times at Hollywood Studios this past week:
- Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance – 81 minutes, no change
- Slinky Dog Dash – 69 minutes, down 10
- Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith – 61 minutes, down 13
- Twilight Zone Tower of Terror – 53 minutes, down 3
- Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run – 50 minutes, down 3
- Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway – 49 minutes, down 11
- Toy Story Mania! – 44 minutes, down 17
- Red Carpet Dreams – 37 minutes, down 2
- Alien Swirling Saucers – 31 minutes, down 10
- Celebrity Spotlight – 16 minutes, down 4
- Star Tours – The Adventures Continue! – 15 minutes, down 6
- Muppet*Vision 3D – 10 minutes, no change
Overall, guests waited for an average of 38 minutes per attraction, which is seven minutes less than last time.
That’s also seven minutes less than the same week in 2024. So, we’re definitely trending down with wait times.
The debate lies in whether attendance is lighter or Disney really has gotten more efficient with crowd management.
As I argued here, I think it might be the latter.
EPCOT

Meanwhile, EPCOT is the park you want to visit right now. The 2025 EPCOT International Festival of the Arts is incredible!
I’m not joking or exaggerating when I say that it might be the best one yet.

Vibrante & Vivado
Disney invented this event solely to increase traffic during January, which was historically the slowest month.
Over the past five years, September has been the slowest month. So, the plan worked.

Vibrante & Vivado
This week’s data only includes the first couple of days of the festival, making it only a minor factor compared to next week.
Still, this festival IS a draw and a sizable one at that. It always makes an impact.

Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure
Here are the park’s wait times during the full week, including the first two days of the festival.
- Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure – 56 minutes, down 13
- Frozen Ever After – 54 minutes, down 17
- Soarin’ Around the World – 43 minutes, down 2
- Royal Sommerhus – 40 minutes, down 1
- Meet Mickey & Friends – 28 minutes, up 1
- Mission: SPACE – 23 minutes, no change
- The Seas with Nemo & Friends – 22 minutes, down 2
- Living with the Land – 19 minutes, up 1
- Spaceship Earth – 18 minutes, down 3
- Turtle Talk with Crush – 18 minutes, down 1
- Journey into Imagination with Figment – 15 minutes, no change

Photo: Disney
Overall, people stood in line for an average of 31 minutes, which is two minutes less than last time.
Last year, the park’s attractions averaged a 36-minute wait. However, the festival impacted at least two more days then.
So, this isn’t a one-to-one comparison.
Magic Kingdom

- Walt Disney’s Carousel of Progress – 5 minutes, no change
Final Thoughts

Photo: Disney World
Overall, Magic Kingdom guests waited for an average of 27 minutes per attraction, which is the same as last time.
So, all four parks dropped week-over-week. They also fell year-over-year. Read into that what you will.
