REVIEW: Disneyland Resort Lunar New Year Food Roundup!
The Disneyland Resort has officially kicked off its Lunar New Year celebration!

DCA Lunar New Year Festival – Sip and Savor Pass
The celebration–which lasts through February 16th–has filled the resort (especially Disney California Adventure) with tons of Asian-inspired cuisine, entertainment, activities, and more! We’ve already tasted some of the event’s bites over at Lamplight Lounge, but we’re back for more!
Lunar New Year Dishes
We hope you’re hungry because we’re about to fly through some of the resort’s Lunar New Year dishes! Let’s start over at the GCH Crafstman Grill in Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel to try their Hot Dog of the Month, the Lunar Dog! (The hotel’s lobby is also full of Lunar New Year experiences and treats–check them out while you’re there!)

Lunar New Year Celebration – Lunar Dog
The Lunar Dog is $16 and has Gochujang roasted pork belly, a grilled all-beef hotdog, and Asian slaw tossed in a lemon poppy dressing on a Sesame Donut, and is served with crispy fries. These flavors worked really well together, with the spicy Gochujang sauce complimenting the tender pork belly and hot dog. The semi-sweet donut was a surprisingly pleasant touch!
Let’s head over to Disney California Adventure to try some of their celebratory items! Over at Paradise Garden Grill, we started with the Bánh Mì for $14.99. (You can also get a half-size portion with a Sip and Savor coupon.) The dish is grilled pork belly with pickled carrots & daikon, cucumber, and jalapeño with spicy mayo on a French roll.

This is a fan-favorite and for good reason. The pork belly was warm and tender–so basically everything you could ask for!

Then, we got the Whole Fish which comes with steamed rice and stir-fried vegetables. It’s served family-style for two. You can grab it for $29.99.

The fish is thoroughly cooked and comes apart easily with chopsticks. It’s served with a fish sauce, which we asked to have on the side.

Then, we got the Red Panda Bao from the Prosperity Bao & Buns booth. It’s a jumbo pork and vegetable bao with chile-garlic sauce. It’s $9.50 or one Sip and Savor coupon.

The chile-garlic sauce really enhanced the flavor of the bao bun, bringing the well-seasoned pork and veggies to the next level!

Next up is the new Phở Dip from the Wrapped with Love booth. The dish comes with rice noodles, sliced beef, shaved jalapeños, pickled onions, and Phở broth. The dish is $9.50 or one Sip and Savor coupon.

The warm broth served as an incredible dip for the sandwich, which had tender slices of beef.

Let’s move on to the new Scallion Pancake Tostada from the Studio Catering Co., which is $8.49 or one Sip and Savor coupon. The tostada comes with a fried scallion pancake, bulgogi beef, kimchi aïoli, and spicy scallion salad.
It had a pretty mild level of spice, but it still helped strengthen the overall flavor of the dish.

Now, we’re onto the new Mini Char Siu Pork Shanks from the Bamboo Blessings booth. It’s $9.25 or one Sip and Savor coupon, and it comes with rice and pineapple chutney. The item may have just debuted, but it’s quickly becoming a favorite among guests (us included)! The pineapple chutney and steamed rice helped balance the flavor of the shanks beautifully.

Time for dessert! We headed over to the Lucky 8 Lantern booth to grab the new Chocolate Firecracker! The dessert is $7.50 or one Sip and Savor coupon. It has light chocolate mousse, chocolate ganache filling, chocolate almond dacquoise, and popping candy featuring DOVE Dark Chocolate.

The ganache is very rich, but it didn’t overpower our palate. The treat’s white chocolate candle wick and pop rocks really capture the firecracker vibe.

Last up is the Toasted Sesame and Red Bean Churro from Hollywood Land! The classic churro comes rolled in toasted sesame sugar with red bean whipped topping and sesame tuile. It’s $7.50 or one Sip and Savor coupon.
