PHOTOS: Disney Shares Sneak Peek at Mary Blair-Inspired Princess Float Debuting in ‘Disney Starlight: Dream the Night Away’
When Disney Starlight: Dream the Night Away debuts this summer, Magic Kingdom will have a nightly parade for the first time since 2016
Originally announced at last year’s D23: The Ultimate Fan Event, the new parade will build on the legacy of the Main Street Electrical Parade and use the latest technology to tell classic Disney stories.
“Disney Starlight is a constellation of Disney dreams brought to life by the magic of the Blue Fairy,” show director Tara Anderson said last year.

“We’re taking this idea of a magical constellation of wishes and dreams and weaving it throughout the parade. Uniting our stories with a touch of hope and wonder.”
“A Nod to the Past With Our Eyes Firmily Set on the Future”
With just months to go until Disney Starlight: Dream the Night Away debuts, Disney has shared new concept art that highlights the parade’s princess float.
With a little Disney magic, the regal unit will pay homage to Disney Legend Mary Blair’s concept art for Cinderella.

In Blair’s artwork, a fountain of light overflows to create a cosmic ballroom. Drawing inspiration from the magical image, the new Starlight princess float is similarly enveloped in glowing stardust.

Glimmer Garments
In addition to breathtaking floats, Disney Starlight: Dream the Night Away will feature glimmering garments designed by the Disney Live Entertainment Costuming team.
Using innovative lighting techniques and custom fabrics, the team has designed each garment to appear as if it was “kissed by starlight.”

Each costume will even twinkle in perfect synchronization with the parade’s music!
With just a few months to go until Disney Starlight: Dream the Night Away debuts, Disney promises that more updates will follow.
