Come With Us to Disney California Adventure’s 2025 Lunar New Year Celebration!
The 2025 Lunar New Year celebration has officially kicked off at Disney California Adventure (DCA)!
The celebration, which lasts through February 16th, helps guests ring in the Year of the Snake with festive food booths, activities, characters, and more. Of course, we’re here for the first day of the big celebration, checking out everything there is to see and do. Join us, won’t you?
Lunar New Year
We’re here in DCA this morning, taking in all of the Lunar New Year festivities! The park’s Lunar New Year arch, located between Buena Vista Street and the main entrance to Avengers Campus, welcomes guests to the celebration with festive decorations and snake-inspired designs.
Banners have also gone up around DCA, showing Mickey…
…Minnie…
…Donald…
…Goofy, and more pals, dressed in their Lunar New Year outfits.
The Year of the Snake Mickey design can also be found throughout the celebration and its merchandise! The design shows a snake, coiled into a Mickey head. (Super creative design!)
Paradise Gardens Park is decorated with these festive banners!
Activities
Over in Paradise Gardens Park, guests can get their New Year’s wishes written in Chinese calligraphy by one of the park’s calligraphers! The experience allows you to choose a wish from the provided samples, which the calligrapher will use to create a keepsake for you to hang on a doorway at home. Each calligrapher’s style is different, so the words and characters will vary, making this an extremely unique item!
Guests can also write their own wishes at the same location, from 10AM to 6PM. After writing the wish, guests are invited to tie them to the wishing wall, allowing them to leave their (temporary) mark on the park!
Guests can also find out what animal represents the year they were born!
These walls provide Disney characters for the animals, which we thought was a fun detail!
Of course, 2025 is the Year of the Snake.
Magic Key Holders can head over to the area underneath the Silly Symphony Swings to take a picture with the Lunar New Year backdrop! The photo-op includes a decorative stand, featuring Kaa, who’s coiled to shape into a 2025!
Merchandise
Of course, the celebration has tons of merch! We’ll start with the Lunar New Year Minnie Ears which cost $34.99!
The headband has lantern designs on the ears…
…which say “Lunar New Year” and “2025” on the back.
