ANOTHER Magic Kingdom Refurbishment Is About to Begin
As Walt Disney World moves out of the holiday season and into what is traditionally a slower part of the year, the resort is capitalizing on the smaller crowds to get some refurbishments done.
This year, we have already seen the Gran Fiesta Tour Starring the Three Caballeros close at EPCOT, Kali River Rapids go down at Animal Kingdom, and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad and Astro Orber shutter at Magic Kingdom.

A crane has arrived in Tomorrowland.
Now, another refurbishment has been announced.
The Dumbo the Flying Elephant Playground Is Closing January 27
According to the Walt Disney World website, the large playground found in the Dumbo the Flying Elephant queue will close for refurbishment on January 27, 2025.
For those who don’t know, the Dumbo the Flying Elephant playground was added to the iconic Fantasyland attraction as part of its move to Storybook Circus.

To keep young guests entertained while they wait in line, families are allowed to wait at the playground. They are then paged when it is time to return.

The playground is expected to reopen in Spring 2025.
The Attraction Will Remain Open
There is good news for guests visiting Magic Kingdom over the next few months. Dumbo the Flying Elephant will remain open through the refurbishment!
Instead of heading to the interactive playground and waiting for their turn to be called, guests will instead wait in the traditional queue.
