Everything Opening at Disney Parks in 2025
Disney’s American theme parks introduced some amazing new features and amenities in 2024.
Realistically, we all know that Disney’s just getting started, though.

This year marks the beginning of the next great expansion era for Disney.
Here’s everything opening at Disney theme parks in 2025.
Bluey

Bluey and Bingo at Bluey x CAMP
While official confirmation won’t arrive for another couple of weeks, Bluey was, in all likelihood, the most streamed program of 2024.
Not coincidentally, Disney is all-in on Bluey as its next big brand, which is notable since the company doesn’t own the franchise.

Fans demand more Bluey, though, and we’ll finally get our wish, possibly even by the time you read this.
Disney has signed a global licensing agreement that allows Bluey characters to appear at theme parks.

Bluey’s World
Expect long lines and big smiles on the faces of children of all ages.
Disney Starlight: Dream the Night Away

Magic Kingdom has lacked a nighttime parade since before the pandemic.
Our fortunes change this summer when Disney Starlight debuts.
You should think of this presentation as the modern, special effects-intensive version of the classic Main Street Electrical Parade.
Both parades are undeniably shiny, but Disney Starlight will tie together its floats using the Blue Fairy as the magic-maker.

Expect a gorgeous, moving story that will end your Disney night in the most satisfying way imaginable.
Disneyland 70

Photo: Disney
On July 17th, 2025, Disneyland Resort officially turns 70.
Thankfully, Disney fans aren’t sticklers about dates, though. It’ll throw a birthday party that starts on May 16th and lasts into 2026!

Photo: Disney
Mickey and Minnie Mouse will wear new outfits, we’ll get exclusive food and merch, and Disney will host new experiences.
We’ll discuss one of them later, but the details almost don’t matter.

The theme park that started it all is about to celebrate a milestone birthday. I cannot wait for May 16th!
The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure

Photo: Disney
Over the past decade, The Little Mermaid show-based attraction at Disney’s Hollywood Studios has been on life support.
Rumors of its demise circulated monthly. Then, the pandemic occurred, and it didn’t reopen with the rest of the park.
At that point, everyone was sure the show had closed permanently. In a way, they were right.
Disney is replacing the old version of the presentation with a new one, The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure.

We’ll get the updated show this summer, and that’s not the only attraction of this kind coming to Hollywood Studios this year!
McKim’s Mile House
Frontierland Shootin’ Arcade closed last year at a time when Frontierland seemed like it was on the way out.
Then, something unexpected happened. Disney officials doubled down on the premise.

Frontierland Sign
Now, Imagineers will re-shape much of Magic Kingdom, and one of the stated goals is to reimagine Frontierland for a new era.
We’ll experience the first of these changes when McKim’s Mile House debuts at Frontierland.

This immaculately themed Disney Vacation Club lounge will provide a respite in the old Shootin’ Arcade building.
I plan to spend 10 percent of my next vacation here.
Pirates of the Caribbean Tavern

New concept art for the Pirates of the Caribbean Tavern coming to Adventureland.
Magic Kingdom will add another hangout spot this year with the debut of the Pirates of the Caribbean Tavern.
Disney is repurposing a popular spot in Adventureland to give the people what we want.

Photo: Disney
And what do we want? More Pirates of the Caribbean! ALL the Pirates of the Caribbean!
At this tavern, Peg-Leg Pete aka the Barker Bird will make a return appearance after an extended absence.
For fans of the minutiae of this attraction, that’s reason enough to be excited.
Of course, the real reason we’re all anticipating this place is that we can talk like a pirate the whole time we’re there.

Frankly, I pity the Cast Members who work here. I, for one, plan to be as annoying as possible, me mateys! Y’arr!
I’m guessing I’ll spend 20 percent of my Disney vacation here.
Spaceship Earth Lounge

Be Our Guest
As these three entries indicate, Walt Disney World is heavily committing to lounges, taverns, and other hangout spots.
Notably, two of them are long-requested by fans. Everyone wanted a Pirates bar for as long as I can remember.
Before the opening of Be Our Guest, this idea wasn’t even possible since Magic Kingdom was a dry park.
Meanwhile, Spaceship Earth has hidden several hosting areas in its spacious womb since 1982.

Photo: Disney
Fans always craved an option that didn’t require them to be corporate sponsors, celebrities, or dignitaries.
We’ll finally have that option when the Spaceship Earth opens in late spring.
The theming of this lounge will mimic the iconic exterior of the building, and guests can stare at World Celebration Gardens from here.
This place will be an ideal viewing spot for the nighttime fireworks presentation when it opens.

Spaceship Earth
And I plan to spend 70 percent of my next vacation here. If there’s a comfy spot to lay down, they may need to evict me.
Test Track 3.0

Test Track
Here’s arguably the biggest E-ticket attraction coming to American Disney parks this year.
When Disney rebooted World of Motion as Test Track, fans lamented the change until they rode the attraction for the first time.

Test Track Reimagination in EPCOT
Since then, Test Track has been an essential part of any EPCOT visit.
For many years, this was the only thrill ride at the park. And Disney has plussed it once already.

Photo: Disney
Now, Test Track is currently undergoing a full reboot as Imagineers modernize it for the next 15+ years of service.
The new version of Test Track will embrace its roots in the World of Motion building while emphasizing modern transportation.
Villains Unfairly After

Photo: Disney
Here’s the other show coming to Hollywood Studios.
While I adore The Little Mermaid, I can admit that this is the one getting all the hype.

Disney Villains Wickedpedia
For years now, loyal Disney followers have begged for more Villains stuff.
As is the case with hangout areas, lounges, and taverns, Disney is finally listening.
First, we got the Villains addition to the Top of the World Lounge.
Now, we’re getting this Magic Mirror-based show this summer.

Photo: Disney
Later, Magic Kingdom will unveil its Disney Villains-themed land.
So, we’ll go from zero permanent Villains amenities to three in just a few years.

Photo: Disney
Disney really is finally trying to give the people what we want.
Walt Disney – A Magical Life

Photo: Disney
If Test Track isn’t Disney’s most exciting new attraction this year, Walt Disney – A Magical Life is.
The answer likely depends on how excited you are about the thought of an Audio-Animatronic Walt Disney.

Photo: Disney
Even his family sounds a bit conflicted on the point, but the Imagineers thoughtfully included them throughout the process.
Now, we’re going to witness Walt Disney – A Magical Life, which will pay tribute to the genius responsible for the entire theme park industry.

Walt Disney Animatronic
I have total confidence in Disney’s ability to get this one right, but audiences still may feel a bit weird watching Uncle Walt in robotic form.
World of Color – Happiness!

Photo: Disney
As part of the Disneyland 70 event, Disney California Adventure will produce a new version of World of Color.
You can guess that the theme is “Happiness,” which sounds very Disney.

Photo: Disney
Beyond that, well, it’s a World of Color show. So, it’ll be breathtaking to behold and another way to end the night magically.
Zootopia: Better Zoogether
Finally, we have the new Zootopia show coming to Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
This attraction will replace the longstanding It’s Tough to Be a Bug!, which will close very soon.

Photo: Disney
Disney has listed a winter opening for the Zootopia show, which has led to speculation about whether that’s VERY soon or late in 2025.
Based on the timeline, I’d presume the latter, but I’d love for Disney to surprise me.

Photo: Disney
Either way, the reality is that Zootopia is a much bigger brand than A Bug’s Life for kids in 2025.
With a Zootopia movie sequel opening later this year, it’s an ideal time to make this change.

Photo: Disney
Okay, that’s everything opening at Disney theme parks in 2025. As you can see, it’s a LOT more than in other recent years.
Even better, we’re only scratching the surface! Bigger stuff is scheduled to debut in 2026 and 2027.

Disney
So, this will be an amazing few years for Disney theme park fans.
