NEWS: BABY OTTERS Have Been Born at Disney’s Animal Kingdom!
Disney World does a lot of animal conservation work, and you can especially see that over in Animal Kingdom! Part of their efforts includes involvement with breeding programs to help keep certain species thriving or bring back other species from being endangered or threatened.

We’ve seen some absolutely adorable babies arrive in Animal Kingdom over the past few years, and now, some more babies have been welcomed into the world!
Baby Otters Born at Disney World
Baby otters have been born at Disney World! Mae recently gave birth to a litter of pups at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, according to Dr. Mark at Disney on Instagram.

These are Asian small-clawed otters, which are the smaller otter species. Dr. Mark says the pups are already “showing their unique charm” and that mom is taking care of her pups backstage when they’re not napping (absolutely adorably, napping, by the way!).
Dad Kevin is also involved in the process of taking care of these new babies!

Dr. Mark says that over the next few months, the otter pups will reach key milestones like opening their eyes, eating solid foods, and learning to swim. The animal care team at Disney is watching their progress closely and we should see these little guys out on Discovery Island soon!
I can’t WAIT to see these babies swimming around their exhibit in Animal Kingdom. We’ll let you know when they make their debut!
