PHOTOS: Demolition of TriceraTop Spin Has Begun at Disney’s Animal Kingdom
Just two days after Chester and Hester’s Dino-Rama officially closed, construction crews are already demolishing TriceraTop Spin.
As a quick recap, Chester and Hester’s Dinosaur Treasures, the Fossil Fun Games, and TriceraTop Spin all closed on January 12 to make way for the new Tropical America land coming to Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
When we visited the park yesterday, planters had been installed to block Dino-Rama from the rest of DinoLand U.S.A. At the time, the area’s lights remained on, and background music was playing.
The Latest From DinoLand U.S.A.
Overnight, Disney has installed more Go Away Green construction walls to further block off the area.
Additionally, it looks like construction crews have begun to demolish TriceraTop Spin, with the attraction’s sides having already been removed.
I wonder if Disney will save the triceratops figure that adorns the attraction. Here is another look.

The demolition of Triceratops Spin has begun.
As you can see, Disney is wasting no time in starting the demolition of Dino-Rama.
Eventually, this area will be the home of Disney’s first Encanto ride.

The Rest of DinoLand Will Remain Open Through 2025
With the construction of Tropical Americas now officially underway, the countdown to extinction for the rest of DinoLand U.S.A. has begun.
Thankfully, The Boneyard, DINOSAUR, and Restaurantosaurus are expected to operate through the end of the year, giving fans a chance to say goodbye.
