PHOTOS: Planters and Construction Walls Arrive in DinoLand as Chester and Hester’s Dino-Rama is Now Officially Closed
The countdown to extinction finally hit zero last night, and Chester & Hester’s Dino-Rama is officially closed.
As Disney’s Animal Kingdom prepares for Pueblo Esperanza’s arrival, DinoLand U.S.A. will be closing in stages.

The phased closure began yesterday when Fossil Fun Games, Triceratops Spin, and Chester and Hester’s Treasures went the way of the dinosaur and were permanently shuttered. Here is the latest.
The Scene From DinoLand
With a new era in Disney’s Animal Kingdom history unfolding before our eyes, we headed over to DinoLand this morning to check things out.
While the lights are still on and music continues to play inside Chester and Hester’s Dino-Rama, the area is now inaccessible to guests.
As you can see, planters surrounded the carnival, creating a barrier to separate the closed attractions from the rest of DinoLand.
A few construction walls have also gone up.
The Chester & Hester’s Dino-Rama entrance sign still looms large over the land.
Guests can also still see the area’s smiling dinosaur.
Here is another look.
Back by Dinosaur, more construction walls have gone up.
The Rest of DinoLand Remains Open
While the Dino-Rama section of DinoLand is now closed, the rest of the land remains up and running.
The Boneyard, Dinosaur, and Restaurantosaurus will continue to operate through the end of the year, giving guests one last chance to enjoy DinoLand in (some) of its glory.
Finally, at this time, Dino-Bite Snacks is closed. However, it looks like the kiosk will continue to operate seasonally.
